What has racism done to this world?????

Rasicm has changed the world because of its stupidity. I think racism just exists because people don't like someone's race, culture,religion. I know that when we look at someone they might not look like us but they're just like us inside. If it were up to me everone would be treated equally.
I would like to know what you guys think slavery has done to this world?

I totaly agree to your opinion! Racism should be extinguished! Everyone is equal under the eyes of the law, so why can't we all be equal under the eyes of others?
Slavery has changed the ways people look at each other. Even though now people accepted how some look different than others, there are still some who don't. Some people wouldn't treat others the same, because of the way they looked, so I would now like to say something to them;
SO WHAT IF SOMEONE IS DIFFERENT, WHAT IF THAT WAS YOU WOULD YOU LIKE THE WAY YOU'RE BEING TREATED? JUST TREAT OTHERS LIKE HOW YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED! 
So, in conclusion, I'd like to say that everyone should stand up to racism and stop it.

Helenfu I couldn't agree with you more. I too think slavery is horrible and we should all work toghther and try to change the world for the good. If it were up to me there would be no racism, no violence, no hatred, just peace and that's my dream.

I agree what your statements have said, and I think that they are very strong.
You are right because people should not be judged by their face, skin colour, race and culture. They should be judged by the person that their are inside.
I think that bringing this subject up was a good idea because it pretty much effects everybody in the world and everyone in this is judged by their looks.

I agree with you because racism should never be used against anybody. Racism can be negated by the help of abolitionists and us. Racism and slavery have been abolished and it is coming back again. We need to stop this now! It will save the children of the future and our future. We all want a good future not a bad one. We sould start now because one person can make a difference.

Racism has done several things to this world. It has left invisible scars upon another person. It has hurt the races of others. This should be remembered because the history of others have been dreadful, all because of this. No matter what race a person is in, they should be treated equally, by friends, by family or government.

each one of you makes very good points.
but you can't change history, so you can't get rid of slavery in the past. as for racism, talk may seem to do alot, but doing something when somebody is being racist to somebody else is much better. i know that i've almost been expelled from my school for standing up for people when they were having racist comments directed at them.

In an ideal world, we would not pass judgement on face value. In an ideal world, the only "ism" would be discriminationism, because we wouldn't tolerate any discrimination on face value (actually, there's a lot more words ending in "ism", but it sounded good :P). Maybe we wouldn't even have to have that word in our dictionary. Perhaps it is our fear of the unknown which causes us to be racist-it could be left over from a pre-historic past where we had to fear the unknown to find out if it was safe. But we know people of other races should not hurt us and if they do, it is not because of their race but because of their beliefs, or other influences. People are born the same the whole world around and we should, as Martin Luther King Jr said, be judged "not by the colour of their (our) skin, but the content of their (our) character". What he said applies to all of us.

well i agree with all of u theirs a lot of nazi websites ive seen and they disgust me so much they think they are pure and may i remind them no one is everyone even i have comit a sin i disagree with their way of life

OMG? there are nazi websites?? shouldn't they be illegal??? people are such morons these days ... so sad... you tell them to shut up with the whole racism thing but do they listen? NOooooooooooooo - of course they don't...!

Points made are very fair but all of you seem to neglect social (poverty, lack of education, lack of access to career opportunities, feeling of insecurity, lack of national and international mobility and etc)"reasons" for xenophobia and racism.
