What are you doing?

Stop! what are you doing towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals? I am implementing a project on Gild Child Education "Send Her to School" and Leading a Campaign on ICT Education as a tool for personal and community development. As a young person I believe that my actions count even without reports, make it count youth for we are the first generation that can end poverty!
What are you doing? Do something today!

Positive steps must be taken to address the MDG, but like always the time frame is too close to get all the things on the MDG documents.

Well i really appreciate what you're doing! I hope that would be sucessfull because many people would benifit out of it.
Personally I contributed in organising a national conference of: Moroccan youth for the National Initiative for Human Developpment. In fact the workshops were full of inthusiasme but this cant be enough. We're planning for some practical actions that are going to be taken by youngsters. We really could make so many people over Morroco get involved in the international process of human devoloppment and this is appreciatable.

What we could all do is to help increase awareness about the MDGs in our local communities. Its amazing how many millions of people are ignorant in our environment. This is partly because young people appear to be more concerned about more trivial things (take for example how much time and energy is consumed on entertainment channels on the satelite instead of watching the news and documentaries.). Youths could begin by enlightening fellow youths in their areas.

This is brilliant effort. everyone is pushing so hard to educate the girl child. Its good and please let us not forget and neglect the boy child. They will make more of the the street youth.

I believe the attention is because most times the boy child is preferentially given the opportunity to go to school. You will agree with me that in in a family with limited income, the parents are more likely to take the boy child to school than the girl.
So, fighting for the boy child to be taken to school is in the words of a certain West African writer akin to straining to open a door which is already wide open*.

Great job boys and girls !
I am writing from one of the developing countries of our planet ( Afghanistan) where we really need to act fast to put at least the first steps to reach MDGs. Though there are very limited possibilites but still we need to get benefit of it the current opportunities most, as International Community is with us in this stage of history.
To answer this question, I would like to mention abt one small Community Project of mine which I run a year back for street children. It was a very small project but at least it provided small scale business for 20 child- beggers, so that instead of begging they started selling gums, biscuits ...etc. It was a successful plan in my analyses.
That is for sure not enough for a young person like me in this poor country, me and other youth in my country need to do alot.
Regards,
Khurshaid

By trying to treat women with dignity and respect and ensuring that they get access to the best jobs ensure that the following MDG: "PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN"
is achieved.

I think the impact of our programme to the people can better be explained to you when you experience it from a 2 metre based because we have been contributing through our actions to a knowledge and open society and reducing the spread of diseases especially HIV/AIDS.
One beneficiary of our programmes, Ike Victor after one of our programmes lamented "Impressive". I have to borrow his words to tell you that our actions counts to the people as Impressive!
Thanks and Do something! Not necessarily new but something today!

You are so right, Ekwuruke, it is always better to do something even if it is not new rather that to do nothing as this old thing will improve on a patch or two. Let us all do everyday some thing and if they are many, they may fill a hole.

it's always a pleasure to know that some young people care about what is happening in our world. i am also one person who does a lot of work with youth in Zimbabwe and think that the key to development is encouraging everyone to be development minded such that we are all looking in the same direction and fighting the same fight. We can't have development only being administered by a few individuals and organisations when we can all be part of the fight against poverty.
