I want to know about Africa

Hello, everyone
I am about to give a presentation about Africa.
I want to know more about Africa.
In common people's view Africa is just a desertland, terrible heat, poor poeple ... ( I dont mean to infuriate anyone, that may just comes from the common propaganda ), except certain countries like Egypt, ....
I am wondering about the other side of Africa.
what about the beautiful scenery,
what about its new developments,
what are the big projects progressing
in Africa.
also what are the worst problems it is facing.
my Frind,
do you have any idea, any info mation for that?
any help would appreciated.
thank you.

* Africa is the most beautiful continent. The climatic conditions are simply but the best. The vegetation and wildlife is compared to no other. The people are very friendly and caring. I am very proud and fortunate to be an African*.
I highly reccommend that you visit atleast one African country for you to get a better understanding of what I mean.Better still, you can search the internet; to get a better understanding of my wonderful continent.
All the best.

Wow! No continent like Africa. This is brilliant. It is the only place on earth where Music comes alive, the human strength is felt and SHAME to slave trade. Where Wild animals smile at foreigners as they are taken pictures. Where Culture stands stong close to Red indian. I love africa. Come and see for your self. I will offer to be YOUR TOUR GUIDE while in AFRICA.

Africa is the forgotten continent that has not forgotten itself.
Everyday I see smiles upon the faces of people who are welcoming and friendly despite their challenges.
Is it true that Africa is the scar on the conscience of the world as asserted by the British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair?
To me people only judge Africa from afar but i humblu submit that those who want to discover the truth should come over for an awesome experience.
Nevertheless, doing an introspective analysis, it seems a few greedy and unscrupulous ones are soiling the reputation of the continent.Talk about life presidents and dictators who afters years of deprivation encountered unimaginable wealth whcih they wouldn't let go.
Put an African anywhere in this world and he will learn to survive-that is the spririt of the African which remains indomnitable!

When you said you want to know Africa, I guessed you are taking in parables; Africa is a Continent of 54 nations with different views to life and diverse political, economical cultural ways of life.
It will take you around the nations of Africa to know about Africa.
We Africans don’t know Africa; yes we know one country and maybe one or two countries close to us, but not Africa.
Should you want to know about Africa, then you have to visit all the nations of Africa, including the various tribes and cultures within a nation in Africa.
You see it is not as easy as saying you want to know Africa. Trust me there are loads of things that will shock you in your quest. Good Luck!

Africa is like any other continent the only difference is that they are too many countries with different religions, traditions and political systems!
I agree with the above post we africans only know 1 or 2 countries because personaly i even forget that Egypt is in africa sometimes! So you have to be specific as to what exactly about Africa you want to know ....

when people say that africa is like any other continent, what we mean to say is that Africa is its culturally diverse, just like any other continent. Sometimes I feel like over exoticize Africa- as the mysterious other, that everyone so longs to discover. That doesn't necessary mean that its a bad thing, i'm its great that you want to learn more about the different nations in africa and the various cultures of the poeple.
But if you ever do end up touring all the countires in africa, I'm sure it would a wonderful experience.
cheers

A fresh new perspective about Africa lies in its viginity as far as the natural resources are concerned. However concerned we seem to be, there are those in 'exhausted economies' dying for the few available resources valuable to the world. Economic giants from the East and the West are scrambling for Africa again -one of the reason why conflicts in Africa seem to be sponsored inorder to passively exploit our intellectual and material wealth. On the other hand lack of transparency and accountability in governance suppresses the will to accumulate wealth of the common man in contrast to high-ranking, politically connnected individuals.Every continent has its good and bad side:
North America - a global industrial giant has vehemently refused to sign the Kyoto Protocol on cutting greenhouse emission;
Most of Asian countries have religion-based governments thus segregation and a breach of human rights;
Europe has -through G8- locked the developing countries from market penetration. They are also the major hurdle to the WTO concessions.
South America - though rich in resources - suffers from communism, child labour, among others.
Africa is the least adulterated and therefore a great place to be in.

Impresive!
You want to know why diversity originates from God? You have surely chosen the right subject: I want to know about Africa.
You see, the world is currently undergoing lots of chaos; hunger, war, diseases, climate change, racial descrimination, poverty....to mention but just a few. If you make a list of the problems afflicting the world, you will surely not miss its representation here in Africa.
Again, the world is going through a revolution in the way people lIve from one day to another. Technology is making lives easier, changing lifestyles and creating opportunities. Tourism is attracting attention and again, there is no other place where the beauty of this world is better represented than in Africa.
What I am saying in effect is that God must surely have chosen our dear continent as a role model for everything!
We have so much un-explored beauty that every one in the world ought to see...yet no one has deared advertize it in its true percepective.
We have so much problems and every one including we that lIve here want the whole world to know we are bad.
What I thus want to ask is: Are we the architects of our own present predicament?
Africa is surely pure, calm and beautiful. We have just been unfortunate to be misrepresented by stooges who know nothing other than their selfish selves. They can refer to us as a DARK CONTINENT just to score some cheap points, but truth is WE ARE JUST GREAT!
Come to Africa, see the world from here and my friend, you will never in your life want to listen to all those cheap propaganda. I wouldnt be surprised if you moved your family here. You are welcome to stay forever!
And oh! your stay is on the house, no visitation fees, legal fees, commissions or other cut-throat charges payable.

You want to know about africa? Thirst of all, i suggest that you use internet just as you do when looking for information concerning china and other countries and you will realise that africa is not the desertland of just wildlife, neither a forgotten land of just black, poor and permanently waring beings.
Then come and tell us what you have seen and we will tell you what you may have seen.
fairly yours
