[Poll] Slavery

Think about this.
Slavery was abolished in 1865, but it is still happening in the world today.
Why does slavery still exist today?
Most people in the world want to get rid of slavery, because it involves racisim. But then again, there are people in Africa with black slaves and black master. Then, I have another question.
What exactly does slavery involve?
Please help me by answering these questions. Thank you.

Slavery is cruel. I think slavery exists because people think they're better than other people people and no-one can match up to them. There are also cases where people think they're race is more suprior than anyone else's. Some slave masters just have slaves so they do all they're work and the slave masters can just watch. FREEDOM is not a privilege but a right every living thing should have.

I think that slavery is just a person who has alot of money and power dictating what people should do. They use this power to force slavery into their country etc.

Thanks, everyone for all your opinions. I personally think slavery is a inhumane thing to do. No one deserves to be treated as a slave, not even the meanest person on earth.
Slavery still exist today, because of someone's cruel past, present, or their heart.
Somepeople may think that because they were enslaved, it gives them the right to enslave someone else. It just doesn't! No one should have the right to 'own' someone. Nobody is 'owned by others. We should all own ourselves only, no more and no less.
Somepeople may have a cruel present, such as being born as a slave or being born poor. As a slave, people would grow more and more desperate to be free. Once they are free, they would feel that they had to give someone the taste of their own medicine. So, the freed slaves would enslave others to make them feel what slavery felt like.
Some people just have a cruel heart and they just like the fact that they are hurting others. That is the real cruelty of slavery. Slavery is not really based on the fact that someone's imprisoned by another person, but the fact that the 'owner' is the person who's hurt the most. That is probably why they enslaved someone in the first place.
If you suffered slavery, you would know that it would be hardest thing in life. You would never make anyone else to be a slave. You would know how much you suffered and how sad and hard it is. So, even if someone is the most evil person, they don't even deserves to be treated as a slave.
People usually think that slavery depends on racism, but it doesn't only depend on it. It also depend on classism, how rich or poor someone is, dominant cultures, how much power does a group have, and more. Somepeople might think they have more power or money than others, so it gives them the right to enslave people.
Anyone enslaving others are wrong and it doesn't matter how rich or powerful they are, because no one can be 'owned' by anybody, but themselves.

I couldn't agree with everyone more. I also think that slavery is cruel, mean, and insecure. I think that people should treat everyone with respect nad dignity. If it were up to me there would be no racism, no violence, no hatred, just peace. I think some people just take slaves because they are too lazy to do their own work. They should consider what the slaves are going through when when they have to work day and night. Some slave masters have salves becvause they think their race is more supirior than every-one else's. Some slave master's are very rich so they take poor people and trun them into slaves. Slavery si wrong. No-one should be a slave. In some countries like Seirra Lione Slavery still still exists. I think slavery still exists because some countries are still developing so thwey have to worry about other things such their poplulation. While thhbye're busy worrying about that other people take advantage and take slaves in and make them do their work. In other countries they don't have a lot of technology so most things are done by hand, some people get lazy and ger slaves to work for them. Slaver should be abolished because FREEDOM is not a privilliege but a right ever human being should have.

I think that slavery is something that has come among us because of ignorance. After Africa was robbed of all it's riches, only because gold was converted to money,and so they began making slave ships. People were still acting as if there was a caste system, and there partly was because blacks were slaves and peasants, going higher, there were slave masters, and then there were the masters and their families. This was very unfair to the blacks and coloured people who were treated with discrimination.

I think slavery still exists because some countries are poor. I think some need the money. It is used to gain income. It runs their economy. The U.S. once used slaves to do this. This could be the reason why the U.S. runs well today. Today, unlike the past, there are technologies and machines in our country that help with daily tasks. We used to thresh and collect wheat manually. Today, we drive tractors to collect crops. We use cotton gins to collect cotton and so on. Undeveloped countries don't have these machines. Work there is driven by labour, more intense labour. I think that this is one of the reasons why slaves are needed.
