Can We Prevent Polluting Our Enviornment?

We can prevent ourselves from not polluting our enviornment. But a lot of people chose not to. Why? We just don't. We may just be too lazy to go and walk to the garbage can. Is that too hard? More people should atleast try to prevent littering. If we don't take care of the world who will? There are different ways people are polluting. They pollute the air, the ground, and the water. We need these things to live. What do we do if we ruin it? If atleast one person plants a tree every month, do you know how many tree can be saved? If we recycle, we also save a lot of trees. If we prevent it now we can save the world for the future.

I totally agree with you keerathana. People pollute the air by driving cars. Driving their kids for two mins. to school.
They are polluting the ground by being lazy and not putting garbage in the garbage bins. Some nuclear power plants are polluting the water by dumping thier toxic waste in the water.

i agree the amount of pollution we have in Canada is very unexceptable. In order to prvent this from happening we should reduce the amount of care being sold and the amount of factories. Some people who drive cars should resort to riding bycicles because enviromentally better and it provides good exercise

in our society today, people have polluted the ecosystem enough. some people dont throw their garbages in the bin but throw them outside the sidewalks and in our fresh water systems. as we keep up this polluting habit, sooner, our environment would be in great danger. not only do we pollute with garbage, the amount of cars being driven is large. gas pollution in the 21st century is very common, and is a hazardous fact. since many people use vehicles for transportation, the that would conclude that our environment is getting polluted more and more by each day that passes by. everyone living in the community should help to reduce the amount of pollution that we have produced. everyone lives in the same society and it is up to us to take good care of our environment.
in my opinion, i absolutely agree with kanka that we should not import & export as much cars as we do now in the present. cars are the most polluting machanical technology in our society today. to prevent our community from getting more contaminated, the government should start deciding on some future considerations about our environment. we should do whatever it takes to prevent our environment from being close to getting strongly polluted.

cars.....

Cars are much less of a polution problem than they used to be. They no all have catayltic converters which means they only churn out carbon dioxide. Whilst this is a greenhouse gas it is not as bad as other polluters. However getting cars of the roads will reduce pollution and make the world a nicer place to be . The only way to do this is for goverments to be radical. Fuel taxes should fly up and major major investments should be put into public transport.
The other major source of pollution is america. Virtually every country in the world apart from america will hit their pollution reduction targets as set 10 years ago. America is showing no interest in this and have not attended recent climate summits. America produces far more pollution than every other country, so they need to get their act together.

i don't think the problem is people are not aware of the problems that they cause when they litter or drive when it's uneccessary. everyone knows that, but they still do it anyway. i think what we have to do as a society is to emphasize our values concerning the enviroment.
In canada there are laws that are enforced and laws that aren't. for example, stealing and killing not allowed, for obvious reasons; but other little issues such as jaywalking (not using designated crosswalks when crossing the street) is not enforced, even though the hazards are obvious in that situation. the government simply needs to place more attention on the enviroment. they should place more recognition for companies that put the enviroment near the top of its agenda, or fund enviromentally friendly projects. and companies could set up a reward system for those who bike instead of drive to work. all we have to do is to sent a message that you are doing yourself good by saving the enviroment, then people incorporate it into their values and beliefs.
