Hip-Hop is not a religion nor is anyother genra of music. Hip-hop, in its truest form is meant to promote peace and create awarness through a poets mind to the mic. It encourages everyone young, old, black, white, purple, or orange to not be afraid to speak your mind.

Do you agree or not that the religious views of Bambaataa and KRS are nonsense doctrines, but their hip-hop is not the hip-hop of 50 Cent.

Like I said Hip hop in its truest form is made not of religion but of what is happening now; take for example Immortal Technique, or Atmosphere. Some, bands not just in the hip hop genra of music send these messages to people, I am not dissagring that there are other bands out there putting out music that is irrelivant to society, because there is.

I just cannot see the relivance of a religion forming out of a genra of music. I mean there is music out there that have oppinions about religions but none that actually people can follow as a true religion. Unless of course you are listening to religious hate metal, or black metal which is the total opposition to the christian religion. Other than that I do believe that there is no form of religion created through music only oppinions.

Yes, Lucifer was the head of music but relating that fact to hip hop is irrelevent... the Bible never specifies what type of music he produced so therefore in your logic any type of music is false religion....I do not think that this is a good reason for belief in a false religion

I hate rap music because its not really music to start with.

Now THIS is music:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEOkxRLzBf0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSZCWapO0is&mode=related&search=

And if you insist on angry music, get good music to feel terrible by:

So, whether its satanic is irrelevant. Rap music must be eradicated from the face of the planet anyway.

It glorifies violence, drugs and prostitution. Christianity is against this, but then again so is everybody with at least half a brain in their head.

If you say it encourages satanism, define satanism. Also be aware that many groups that pretend to be satanic are just attention whores who want the Church to get together and tell people NOT to listen to music by a given band. Telling somebody to never, ever do something is a sure way to get them to try it at least once...

Busta Rhymes Banned From NY Movie Set

Monday, March 12, 2007
By: Kenny Rodriguez

Busta Rhymes was expecting to begin shooting his new film, “Order of Redemption,” in Manhattan on Saturday, until the New York Police Department intervened citing security concerns.

“The production agreed that Busta Rhymes would not be participating in the scenes shot here after the Police Department raised public safety concerns,” said Julianne Cho, associate commissioner with the Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting.

The exact nature of the security concerns was not disclosed, but it may be related to a NYPD investigation into the shooting death of Busta’s bodyguard Israel Ramirez, a case in which the rapper has refused to cooperate with police.

“This is tremendously unfair to Busta, who has been nothing but professional during this project,” director Jeff Celentano said. “This is a bigger loss for the city of New York.”

“Order of Redemption,” a crime drama starring Academy Award nominee Tom Berenger, began its first day of production in Midtown Manhattan without Busta Rhymes.

The film is scheduled to continue to shooting in New York City for 14 non-consecutive days into early April.

Snoop Held Overnight For Suspected Drug Use

Monday, March 12, 2007
By: Kenny Rodriguez

Snoop Dogg was held by police overnight in Sweden on suspicion of using illegal narcotics, but was released after questioning and drug tests, a police spokesman said Monday.

The California-based rapper was heading to a party after a Sunday concert in Stockholm, Sweden, when police pulled his car over at around 1:30 a.m., according to Matts Brannlund of the Stockholm police.

Brannlund said that Snoop and a female companion showed signs of drug use and were taken to a police station, where he was “deemed to be under the influence of narcotics.”

A small amount of drugs was found in the car, but Brannlund could not specify which kind of drug and whether it belonged to Snoop or not.

“He underwent some tests that will now be sent away for analysis,” Brannlund said. “In two to three weeks, we’ll know if he was on something.”

Snoop was released shortly after 5 a.m., but could face a fine if his drug test comes back positive.

In Sweden, which has some of the strictest narcotics laws in Europe, minor drug offenses are punished with fines.

Snoop Dogg performed with Sean “Diddy” Combs in Stockholm’s Globe Arena on Sunday, just one spot in a 22-date joint tour across Europe.

The tour is also booked for Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, and London before wrapping up on April 2 in Nottingham, England.

Ray Benzino Not Guilty of Tax Evasion
Tuesday, March 6, 2007

By: Kenny Rodriguez

Ray “Benzino” Scott, rapper and former owner of The Source magazine, was found not guilty yesterday by a panel of jurors on two counts of failure to file tax returns.

“I am very happy to be exonerated and that the judicial system worked,” said Scott, who faced up to one year in prison if convicted

“This is a case that broke through race barriers, considering there were 12 white jurors, and also broke through hip-hop barriers, because I was sitting there as a representative of hip-hop, with my braids and my songs all coming into play.”

“It makes me think of a lot of other guys that have been trapped by the judicial system. I encourage anyone out there who has legal issues to get involved with your lawyer.”

“I was very much involved from day one in my case. I was offered to do time before I brought it to trial, but I fought and I won. I’m a fighter, I’m always gonna be a fighter.”

Despite losing ownership of The Source last year, Scott and Dave Mays have since co-founded a new hip-hop publication, Hip-Hop Weekly.

shocked
A nonprofit organization Rand think tank in Pittsburgh, surveyed about 1,400 kids who listen to hours upon hours of hip-hop and R&B and rock on their iPods. Apparently, among "heavy listeners" of raunchy and "degrading" songs, 51 percent started having sex within a couple years, versus only 29 percent who listened to, say, Coldplay. Or Beyonce. George Benson.

Where have the open minds and understanding gone? I referenced a definition from dictionary.com stating religion as; "2. A specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects:-"
There are other definitions that can support Hip-Hop being a religion. But it all comes down to those who accept the preachings to heart and lives a spiritual life according to the doctrines defined by the religion. Only those involve ever has the right to lable their beliefs as religious or not.

We are out side of the circle, so we'll always be looking in, skeptical of differences and change.
