Water pollution

Canada is sometimes called “water-rich” nation. It holds 9% of the world’s renewable fresh water supply. It has the longest ocenas coastlines, and is the second largest continental shelf along the coast .Canada uses alot of water in their day to day lives. Even though it seems like we have alot of water supply ,pollution still remains an important problem in some of our water. In some areas, people can’t swim or eat the fish they catch.
Water pollution has wider impacts in our environment, economy, and health. Even some toxic suvstances is known to cause cancer.Geatest health risk is to small children, elderly, and to Aboriginalsa in the north because they rely on local wildlife as a source of food. Toxic substances and acid rain often causes damage to our environment. Already, acid rain has threaten 15 000 lakes and forests in eastern Canada .Canada’s freshwater and marine areas is affected by 3 important water pollution problems. they are excess nutrients, sedimentation and toxic substances.
Onbe way we can prevent water pollutions is conserving it. Conserving watwe saves not only the cost of producing drinking water, but also the cost of wastewater treatment. Water conservation saves energy and prevents pollution. Other way is don’t dump toxic materials into water. We can try to remove the pollutants before the water gets back into the environment.
