I strongly disagree to what Eling said about not selling fresh water. Firstly, Canadians don't use 95 million litres a day, they only use 350 litres a day. If we sell our water then we will smarten up and know that our water is running out and start to conserve more water. Also, there are no sea creatures in the lake. Its a lake not a sea. I don't think that using "95 million litres of water" is a useful advantage. It is more like wasting it instead.

I agree with everyone in this discussion except for Roshan who is against this. We should sell our water, we are not ripping off other countries by selling water. A lot of countries are suffering without water. Roshan, you are saying that Iraq dumps oil into their 4 lakes, but actually they barely have any lakes in the first place! One question, why would Iraq even dump their precious, their main source of economy. Use your head for once, Roshan. Next, Roshan you said that it is cheaper to filter out the salt water and sell that. You can't do that, because it is an expensive process. Roshan you would know that if you were listening in Science Class! We have a lot of water that we don't use, if we leave that then that's wasting. We should sell water to the needy, third world countries. You can say who care, but there is the UN behind our backs. We should bring. You said that if plants die, fish would die and animals that eat the fish would die. You make no sense because how could fish die from eating plants that have no water. The plants are not poisoned. Duh!
You don't get the point, you talk about thing that have nothing to do with water. Think before you speak Roshan. Next time try to make some sense, you always speak the same things over and over again.

i think canada should sell itz water cause we as a developed country dont know how many ppl die a day cause they dont have nuff water in there country.so i think canada should sell itz water and even if we dont sell it 4 money we can give it away 4 think we need like oil and ather thingz

I think Canada should sell their water to other countries because we have 9% is drinkable out of 15%, so if we sell our water then we can get money. Also we can use the money for medical supply and education.

This post is regarding michael88's message.
First of all, there are habitats for fish in the lake. After all, why can't there be water creatures in the lake?
Second of all, the fact about how much water each Canadian use is from the internet, what I did was to analyze the information given to me on the net.
Furthurmore, there are other countries that could provide better quanity AND quality. Why Canada then? To earn more money? What is the point of earning money if Canadians have to change their lifestyles that would cause unhappiness all of a sudden? Yes, I also realize the fact about evaporization so the water would come back to us, but have you ever consider about the weather? Yes, the weather! What if it didn't rain for a long time? That situation is possible. Evaporization, condensation and precipitation has to take time too, so what would the Canadians do while they suffer because of the sudden adjustment to their lifestyle?
Also, in Michael88's point, he said that Canadians use less of the amount that I wrote, so that means Canadians use less water than you think they do!!!

dan dan dan......do you have a heart???? how can you say we should not sell our water to countries who need it??? If Brazil and Russia have more water then why don't we take the initiative and start to sell it sure not all of the water is drinkable but quite a bit of it is. We are not stupid enough to sell so much of it that there will not be enough for us to survive well at least I hope were not that stupid. All of the water will eventually come back to us because of the water cycle. Canada is not the richest country in the world and we can't afford to sedn money to the countries who need aid because they don't have fresh water.

Should canada sell it's water?
Yes,i think canada should sell it's water to other countries because some people really needs it,ifyou had these tangs any body can just come and steel it,but if canada sell it's water they wont make people die beside they well help them and also they make out money and help are committees ang clean the streets and have more shops for us to go and shop from.If we selled are water we would be done the right thing not only for the people for us too,and even are population can grow bigger and bigger.

i've read the replies of many people for this discussion and i honestly don't know what my personal opinion is about this matter. there are both good and bad reasons about selling canada's water.
if we sell canada's water, a lot of advantages might take place. everything will become cheaper and canada would be more richer than ever! canadians could build or renovate hospitals to make them better. the jobless could find jobs easily. canada will become famous knowing that canadians are the ones who helped other countries who lack water supply. a lot of children die of dehydration (did i spell that correctly?). so if canada sell their water, they could help those kids have a healthy life!
as for the disadvantages, i would say that there's a lot of them too. many canadians use water wastefully as others would say. they take water for granted! and we waste a lot 'em water, i tell u! and if we sell it, what about the future? we might need mroe water in the coming years, who knows??
therefore, i think that canadians should sell their water but for the countries who need 'em most and not the ones who will just waste them. so there ya go!
