I think addressing the issue of climate change will require massive changes in our lifestyles and our energy sources. By this I mean energy efficiency and clean, renewable energy. This would call for our governments to work together and agree on an action plan that will significantly bring down our greenhouse gas emissions.
I know, I know -- it's easier said than done, especially considering that different governments have different priorities. But right now, what could be more important than the future of our world, right? As young people, we have the most at stake, so we should be stepping up to our roles as the major stakeholders and stand up for the kind of future we want.

Well, that's the other irony of Global Warming: even though many places will warm up in the long-term, some places which are surrounded by glaciers and/or have alot of ice in the waters surrounding them (i.e. Britain, the province of NL in canada, denmark, iceland,etc..) have actually seen a stretch in the EXTREMES of temperatures on both sides.
Because quite frankly, hotter temperatures leads to more ice melting: leading to a temporary spike down in temperature followed months later by a spike up in temperatures (because once water warms up, it's hard to cool down and vice versa).
Also, the G8 Countries will be discussing the issue of Global Warming on Wednesday: with european countries such as Germany wanting the rich countries to keep their temperatures at or below the 2 degrees celsius increase a year threshold (to avoid the worst case scenario outlined in George Monbiot's "Heat: how to stop the planet from burning". However, the US doesn't want this guarantee (and the Canadian PM has yet to make his views clear in public other than "honest brokership"!

Just today, US Senators Joe Lieberman (D-CT) and John Warner (R-VA), the Chairman and Ranking Member of a key environmental Senate subcommittee, announced that they have begun drafting a "comprehensive bill to address global climate change."
And, on the other side of Capitol Hill, Rep. John Dingell, Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said today his panel would attempt to write a global warming bill this year that would cut global warming pollution by "between 60, and perhaps as much as 80, percent by 2050."
The science tells us that we must cut global warming pollution by 80 percent by 2050 to prevent the worst consequences of global warming. Rep. Dingell's announcement is an encouraging sign that he is taking this issue seriously and that we could see Congressional action later this year.

The Mediterranean basin is literally frying under a scorching summer sun while some European countries are simultaneously experiencing severe floods. Conclusion: climate change is happening for a fact - it's time for us to take it seriously and act now, both individually, and as nations.

Well, here in Texas, we had more rain and a cooler summer than weve have in years. Normally when it is 108 degrees, its been more like 95 degrees. Must be the glaciers that surround texas

still, global warming affects climate, not weather. thats just what the pro-global warming scientist have said.

notice that all the effects of the "so-called" global warming get further and further away. i thought it was 2012 that the earth would be a giant ball of fire. Yet politicians set up a bill for 2050? Hmm...something stinks! maybe its the heat.
