[Poll] Water and Sanitation
February 16, 2007 - 11:49 AM

Hi everyone.Being part of the UN water booklet here in London has really assisted me re-open my mind of how water, poverty and environment are closely interelated.During the edition of the UN water booklet for the youth which we are almost through with before its launch on the World Water day ,i got to learn a lot about the poverty levels in various parts of the world in relation to access tp clean water and sanitation, the great divide between the rich and the poor in developed and developing countries and the water crisis in general.
Going through various submissions from youths all over the world,i realised that we as youths have great potential in changing the current water crisis!
It is gross and its unfair for the poor to pay more for water and if nothing is done the situauion can get worse, going through the 2006 UNDP Human Develo[pment Report,Beyond Scarcity for those of you who have had a chance,do you think water is still a silent crisis in your countries and for how long is it going to be a crisis? What can we as youths do to change this?
