no it ain't fair!!

Depends how much homework ure talkin abt. 9 subjects every wk is not the ideal life.
Homework is schoolwork to be done at home.
Say u spend at least 7 hours every day in sch n after tt u still have other curricula activities.
Y can't the sch let me do schoolwork in school instead of makin me bring back sch work to do at home n call it homework? During e hours i spend in sch the sch has my presence, my mind, my heart, my undivided attention big grin. Y should they make me bring extra schoolwork home?

If we do our homework and concentrate during class we won't have to sit long nights before the exam to catch up everything we have missed..i tried this and i agree that homwork can be of much benefit..
But look at my former school for example or most schools in Egypt home work is given in huge amounts and no teacher takes into consideration that we also to study for other subjects..back here there's most pupils are pretty competitive( we are raised in such manner)so all they think of is how perfect they get to do that HW
Consequence: no free time..no private life apart from school ..no personality and no enjoying of life..
Most pupils grow to be empty from the inside, very superficial..and all that is becoz they get no time off..
One last thing..i think if homework is evaluated by teachers more back here or all over tests won't be that sressy,am I right?

Homeworks sometimes benefit us because it makes us review our lessons at school. We aren't always dilligent to review our lessons of course. Homeworks could force us to do so. But sometimes, students try to get rid of their responsibilities of doin' their homeworks. Instead they copy their friends' works. I admit sometimes I do it too. But at a time I really enjoy doing my homeworks, especially when I have nothing to do.

I agree with you. 'cuz HW can be fair or unfair.

I m not saying that teachers should not give HW's. they should give but not much.
Consequently, due to administration HW's:
ensure understanding of the subject not for pain for us !!! smile

Whats unfair rather homework is the best way to engage themselves into something positive & quality work. But the quantity shouldn't be too much else it lands many in depression due all work & no play problem.

I think homework is fair and also needed. Homework gives the child time to make sure they really understand what is going on. They get to see there scores which lets them know if they understand it too. #elliottshifman

It is often said that “one worships whatever he or she spends the most time doing.” If this is true, millions of kids across America worship homework. What about the thousands of private, religious schools that preach placing God first in one’s life? Is that possible with a student’s workload? Pupils are stripped of their view to see what life is all about as all they know is meeting deadlines and earning good grades while failing to collect any true understanding; mandatory homework diminishes self-discovery. Today, people spend their whole lives preparing. Pupils are told homework is to prepare for college, which prepares for one’s career, which prepares for retirement, which prepares for death. When will millions of kids seeking life to its fullest be able to stop preparing and enjoy life where they are? Of course, preparing for the future is important, but homework strips students’ ability to enjoy where they currently are in life because they feel as though they are not there yet.

As I currently sit here doing homework, one thing I do have to bring up is stress. Stress is a killer and is homework's right hand man. Homework is always accompanied with stress, especially when 3 or 4 hours of the work is piled up.

The stress created for, as you addressed, "preparing for death," is inumerable. Especially in a homework setting, its extremely hazardous toward health.

I think homework for students is fair. It helps the students to overcome their difficulties in subjects which are tough for them and it alo gives them the scope to study and think of what the real knowledge in problem solving conditions.

I think it should be given and the students who decide to utilize the resources will be the most successful. If someone chooses not to do it, then it will harm them initially
