To some extend I agree that we the Youth lack some crucial aspects that promote participation in policy formulation and development but again I beg to disagree that power and wealth are not the only factors that can promote Youth participation in policy matters.
Most of us young people lack confidence and believe in ourselves and our abilities. In short, we are just plain scared of going for/taking what is rightfully ours .Unless we change this mentality of thinking that we are inexperienced or immature, then others will definately see us exactly the way we think and present ourselves.
It's high time for youth to stop giving excuses and take action in whatever little way!

I tend to find that young people are very active is just that they are economically and socially marginalised so that they are unable to make as large or a significant contribution to positive social change as they would like?

It is a Big challenge for Developing Countries to attain the recommended MDGs. As Young Entreprenuers in the Deeveloping Countries we are faced with challenges of reaching our Youth to make an Impact for positive change. We need more motivational Force of Driving towards Prosperity.
Areas of Intervation:
Youth Training in Areas of Science and Technology.
Support from Government and NGOS and INGOs to have a strong decision Making.
IMplementation of Voluntary Work to make changes to the world especially under Rotaract.
