[Poll] George w. Bush or Saddem- what ever happened to Osman bin Laden?
March 31, 2003 - 10:33 AM
|
|
Which country would you rather be part of? why?
My Opinions
I rather be in United State cause i feel more safe.
But in reality i hate George W.Bush. The fact that he's just bombing all the country to show power. But it true , in order to get rid of Saddem you need to this. But finding Saddem is going to be hard he probably has doubles hat look similar to him. What ever happend to Osman bin Laden?
Who is better Bush or Saddem
Bush
(3 votes for 30%)
Saddem
(7 votes for 70%)

but what i meant was would you prefer to live in United States or Iraq?
I am definatly happy to be in canada. It a wonderful place in this matter. But for things like homeless, disablities, gender, gangs wise it horrible. But in war matter it's a safe place to be in. I feel sorry for all the civilians that live in Iraq and have to go through all that pain. Some lost family members, or are sick themselves or even hurt. this is terrible. That why i started a project it on my profile about teens doing things to change the world even in little way.

You feel SAFE in America?
I don't see why- you are alot safer in Canada than in America. You are alot safe in France than in America. Because it's not your megatons of nuclear warheads that make you safe- that just sets you aside as a better target. Given between Iraq and America I would choose America- because Americans are not the victems of an intense 'percision strike campeign' or whatever.
I agree with Studs- You shouldn't be loyal to your nations, you should be loyal to ideas and participate in your nation as such.

I personally feel that there is no safer country right now because if something were to happen and Iraq was able to take over the coalition countries like the US, Canad is right beside them.

What ever happend to Osman bin Laden? i would be part of usa as well but saddam has had a long enough time to surrender or prove he has none of those weapons(the biological, chemical, and nuclear ones) i think they should either get rid of saddam
or do something to stop him. p.S. i don't like bush much either.

I feel more safe here at home in beautiful war-less CANADA, but if I had to pick then I would say America. In America you have a less chance of dieing than you would in Iraq. If it were up to me there would be no war, no racism, no gender dicrimination, no hatred, no violence just PEACE. Ever-one is this world is born equal and its what you make of yourself than people judje you. Right now people are saying Saddam is bad for those missles. Then they're saying Bush is bad for terrorising Iraq. I don't get it which one is the bad guy nad which one is the good guy.

Personally, I think that if I had a choice where to live i would chose America. If you noticed, the war is being fought in Iraq, so that's where most of the damage is liable to be. As for the poll, Who is better, Saddam or Bush? There is really no answer. Though the United States had suspicions of Saddam they didnt have proof that he really did have weapond of mass destruction. On the other hand, you cant be angry at Bush, he's just trying to do what is right for his country.
I've heard rumors of Osama Bin Laden being dead.

Actauly, I think Canada is better w/ supporting their people, and America is just better at propagandizing what support they give.
But between Iraq and America? Well, I said earlier that I like the idea of Anarchy, and thats a point in itself; (I don't actualy like anarchy, it was just a whimsicle comment) I think you have far more personal safety in America (or parts of it), and in general people respect your opinions and leave it at that. From what I here, your right to speech and to opnions is somewhat compramised in Iraq.
But I don't speek from xp on that- call me on it if I'm wrong.

i choose neither they are the most dangerous men in the world and one or both will kill us all. Alternative to war: put them in a small room and let them kill each other, then vote in a president someone actually elected

I would rather preffer to stick with no one. Not Iraq not even USA its becaUSE BOTH countries are just showing evilness and madness. Also, Bush and Saddam just want power and they both just want wealth. They want to be the SUPERIORS and they want to conquer all the countries in the world then RULE the world. Innocent Iraqi people are being affected, hurt, and die because of the war. I think Bush needs to stop his army from attacking Iraq because Iraqi people are innocent.

I think that Osama Bin Laden might be helping Saddam Husen since they are friends. Well, first war and then Osama. USA has a lot of revenges on other countries.

I would rather stay here in Canada. The Prime Minister made a good choice not to be part of the war. If Canada joins the war then canadian soldiers will be injured and some of them will die. In Iraq, Iraqi people were injured. some of them died. American soldiers were allso injured and some of them died too. I hate Wars. I hope that there will be peace forever!

Anarchy

Studs, what are you thinking? Sure the new teen "culture" promotes anarchy, but let me ask you something. Anarchy involves becoming totally self sufficient. Where wuould you get your food? Are you a farmer? Didn't think so. Where would you get electricity? Heat? Water? Sure anarchy sounds great when you have everything, but I imagine it would be a bit different if you were not sitting on your computer in a nice safe, heated house or a public library.
Most governments try to do their best for their people, taking into consideration their culture, religion, natural resources, etc. However, occasionally you get a leader who is only interested in his own power. He will use torture, death, starvation, and fear as his weapons, in order to retain power. When that threat is used against innocent civillians and countries around him, then it becomes of global concern. It is up to those who are in strong positions to fight for those who can not. In this case, Bush has felt that the US has a moral obligation to protect these people. Perhaps he should have waited longer and tried other alternatives, but every day he waited, more and more people were being killed.
The question of oil is not a major factor in the US going to war, since we get plenty of oil from our other allies; however, the trading of oil has helped Iraq's neighbors increase the economies of their countries, and will do so for the Iraqi as well (now that Saddam will no longer be stealing their profits).
War is not something to be taken lightly. It should not be entered into without great consideration to every other alternative. However, we must be aware that some people will not listen to anything but what they respect, brut force. Saddam had to be eliminated, he gave the world no other choice, and the US, because of its position in the world, had to be the one to lead it.
Safety in the world is now more difficult to achieve than at any other time. Terrorists are able to move around more easily than ever before, and the US is so open, that it is a prime target. However, most people are good, and most places are safe. We can not let the threat of terrorism scare us into hiding. That is the nature, and power of terrorism, to use fear to control the people.
I am proud to be an American. We may not be perfect, but we have high ideals, which we are constantly striving to achieve. I am never going to let terrorists scare me from being here or living my life the way I choose.
