Man circumsion and Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting

I read good discussion about above these topics!
Now this is not question that Islam permit it or not, but question is that is it good for the human life, health and social status?
For man circumsion it is approved from Islam and many non muslims are also practicing this and from recent study of Dec 2006 UNO recearch it proved that man circumsion is good for health of man and more that 50% chances are safe for this from HIV/AIds.
So from current research it is finalized however for female gentle cutting it is not approved from Islam but in some muslims country like eygpt and afriacan countries this practice is still continue.
Now question arise here is this medically wrong?
Is there any harms to do this?
What may be the main causes for this practice
culture
social
medical
sexual or ?????
So if any body have right knowledge please come forward.

hell no! it's escencially a cover up for human mutalitation. at it's worst, there is no numbing medicines used, the parents must pin the person getting the procedure done to the table, and steril instruments aren't used. it's wrong.

"A common phenomenon which has been regretfully associated almost exclusively with Islam is the various forms of female genital cutting, or FGC[1]. Although many of those who are involved in this act attribute to the religion of Islam, the majority of the forms of FGC present in the world today which are acts truly abominable, acts of which the religion of Islam is innocent. In no way does Islam condone these actions, and they should be looked at something purely culture and not Islamic. Amnesty International asserts, “FGC [female genital cutting] predates Islam and is not practiced by the majority of Muslims, but has acquired a religious dimension.”[2] The Female Genital Cutting Education and Networking Project states, “...it is not an Islamic practice. FGC is a cross-cultural and cross-religious ritual. In Africa and the Middle East, it is performed by Muslims, Coptic Christians, members of various indigenous groups, Protestants, and Catholics, to name a few.”[3] One sect of Jews, the Falashas, also circumcise both sexes.[4] We will first look into the various types of FGC, and then examine why various cultures implemented these techniques upon their female constituencies".

Dear all,
Thanx 2 discuss upon topic.
My core intention to raise this issue is that what is
social,
medical
and cultural
valuation of female genital cutting.
Specially i want to know this in medical point of view.
Is it effect sex?
Is it decrease sex?
Is it good feeling for male person?
Is this protecting or increasing STI?
I think we must have possitive and creative discussion on it.

I think taking a stand against this issue needs to be considered along with the traditional aspects of the practise. That is, women who do not have the operation may be refused entry into their culture's community of women. She may not be accepted by her culture. So, to deny or even outlaw the practise as outsiders may create another source of danger to these women's lives. This must be considered when making an opinion about this. That said, I fully agree that it is a practise that must stop. But, at the same time, it must also be replaced. Some cultures have moved to making a small and harmless cut to replace the symbolism represented by genital mutilation.

I think we must have possitive and creative discussion on it.
Does it affect sex?
I am not a doctor, but it doesn't take one to answer your questions. The clitoris is the most sensitive part of female genitalia and central to any achievement of orgasm. Cut this away and it is impossible to have an orgasm.
Does it decrease sex?
The woman's wound never heals. Sex is very painful and she avoids it.
Do males get a good feeling from sex with a circumcised woman?
Men have no need to satisfy a circumcised woman, because she can't feel an orgasm. So generally sex becomes just an act for the male's gratification. In other words, sex becomes very fast and ends when the man has his orgasm. The woman is grateful that the pain stops.
Are Sexually Transmitted Diseases more likely in circumcised women?
Yes, as I said, the wound never heals and often bleeds frequently. This makes it easier for HIV to infect the woman.
Female Genital Mutilation is a terrible practice that scars a girl/woman both physically and mentally. It must be stopped. It is not comparable to male circumcision where only a small piece of foreskin is cut.
