I agree with you. We are an independant country. America is an independant country, and this is America's war to fight, not ours. Another reason is, if we as Canadians had decided to go on a crusade or start a war, would we have America's support?

Actually, I think that the Americans would support if Canada went on war.
But i also think that it's good for Canada to dis- included itself from the war, because if they didn't they would have made a lot of enemies.

Hey i am glad that canada is not fighting in the war because if we did then canada would lose soldiers to. Personaly war is dumb and not fun to hear about on the nightly news. I think they should not hav war or somthing so little.

lot of opinions

Hey. You know, I am so proud to be a true Canadian. The reason for that is, for a long time Canada has always been a huge supporter of America, but many times I felt that we were pressured to be part of anything the Americans do. Now Canada has proven the fact that we are a indepentdent country, that we do what we believe is right. No one has control over us and if we think that the war is wrong then we will not be part of it or part of the "honour".
"I am Canadian".

Yeah, in fact, I think it's great that Canada can make its own decisions and we've made sure the US knows we're independent

Say No to War!

I think war is just a wrong thing to start with. Canada is a very peaceful country and we should never go on war. We should always make peace with different countries instead of fighting to get our way. I think that we are a very proud country because we are very safe and content. United States always make war with other countries, so I think that we should not ever follow them, unless the are doing something good. We should be a leader, not a follower to United States.
So, in conclution, I think that Jean Chretien was very smart to not go with the war and United States. The Americans should know that many innocent people, such as woman and children and many very young soldiers who just wanted to defend their countries.
What do you think of this? What if it was your families in the war? Why do we even have wars? Can't these people just grow up and solve things the right way? If even little children can learn to solve problems, why can't presidents and leaders? If they are leaders of their places, they should be the most important and most honored person in their places, not the most unmature! Please consider this, and try and stop this war!

I do not think that Canada should get involved with the war yet. I think that Canada would be best for rebuliding Iraq when this whole mess is over!

I think that Canada did the right thing in not taking part in the war. The United Nations did not want the Americans to start a war but they did. Canada didn't go because the United Nations said No, and plus if we did say yes, there would be so many Canadians over there dieing.

Canada Should not help America
April 5, 2003 - 01:41 AM

I think Canadians shouldn't help Americans because Americans are going to war for all the wrong reasons. America's mission is to free the people of Iraq form their government but the Americans are ending up killing some of the Iraqi people by dropping bombs over there cities.
The only help that we Candians are giving so far is that we are sending are peacekeepers to Iraq and i think thats all Canada should do.

We should NOT be involved

I don't think Canada should be in the war because first of all, we don't have enough money for the military. However, you can't say we didn't try helping the United States. During the 911 incident, we offered them a lot of assistance. Even though Canada didn't help U.S. with the war, we supported the U.S. by having rallies downtown at Nathan Philips Square on April 4, 2003.
At this moment, I don't see the point of helping the U.S. Even if we are not involve, at heart, we are supporting them.

America's populace is the only populace in the world which is so valiantly in favour of this war. That is because, according to the Princeton Research Association, 44% of Americans think that "some or all of the 9/11 hijackers were Iraqi." As such, "what support there is for the War on Iraq in America can be attributed to the erroneous belief held by the majority of Americans that it was Saddam's henchmen who flew two jets into the WTC."
