Youth and Unemployement

What do we do as youths to curb the rate of unemployment in Africa.
How do we talk to our various leaders/government about this. We need to get the youths involved in planning, design and evaluation of issues that concerns them.
What do you think?

I think if you want to do something just go for it. You might have problems getting what you want though. No one will ever give you anything so you might have to fight for it.

Hi, i think the best way is to start initiating a movement that slowly grows to a wider network. Fighting for rights is the way but only if you do it in an organised way. We are also trying to work on this, and the strategy we are planning is to firstly organise/unionise the youth so that they have a solid/strong platform to speak of their rights. Its about time the youth are included in the decission making process! Good luck to u!

This is the major problem Nigeria is facing, infact all African countries. I wonder how nigeria will boast it economy without man power.

A lot of us have been thinking in the same line as you over the years, but the truth of the matter is that we dont have a listening Government that wants to see the youth progress.
However after much talks things are sarting to look like we are moving on.
Progress Youth Alliance is a froum amongst other groups set aside for the benefit of the the Africa Youths.
We have take the right step and we are starting to see results, though not much has been done but word of mouth is very important as we seek help from people.

Hi everybody,
My name is Osée Résidor. I am from the country called Haiti (in the Caribbean).
According to me, the youth unemployment issue is constitutes a great problem for the future of the youth. As youth raise our voices and pledge for employmen for the young people, especially from those living in developing countries, the most affected by the unemployment.
Looking foreward to reading your comments !
Best regards,
Osée Résidor
From Haiti.

Without doubt, alots of youths are lavishing due to no jobs, many, I say many has end up been drug victims and all sort of immorality due to stress and unsure what tomorrow holds....well if it is for me, I would to every youth to get employ hence it is obivously helping hands to the government and not being pest instead.

it always seems like there is a lack of jobs at the most inconvenient times. durring the Great Depression, our country had this same problem. our government created massive improvement projects to try to give our citizens more jobs. these included the building of national parks and the planting of trees in de-forested areas. maybe something like this could help in other places. possibly this would increase tourism and create even more jobs for the future.

African leaders have failed to face the reality of life as a result of this many youths are jobless after completing their university education.
For example in Nigeria , what one knows how to do doesn't matter but the certificate that one possesses. One must be connected with those in government too.
Many who can't defend their certificates are employed and those who have the knowledge and the certificate are unemployed .
Will such country develop when those who suppose to move the country forward are neglected because they don't have God father?
Some africans youths who are from poor family have no choice than to develop themselves and keep hoping that if there is life there is hope.
Truly , I must confess that africa youths are highly cheated by their leaders. My emphasis is on those africa countries that are blessed with natural resources.
