I am encouraged by the recent talks outside Mecca between Hamas and Fatah. What do you think?

this will alleivate things only in the short term.
Hamas is making it clear they will never recognise Israel - "There is nothing called Israel, neither in reality nor in the imagination."
therefore the economic troubles will continue, the warfare will continue - maybe not between Hamas and Fatah - right now -
but the underlying dynamic of Hamas rejection of Israel has not changed - therefore the general situaiton, which may improve a bit in the near term - will ultimately end right back in a violent cycle.

Maybe so Luke..but at least the Palestinians will stop fighting each other..and the country has been somewhat strengthened by a united government..I'm optimistic

Hmm ... if Israel does not exist, I wonder who Hamas is fighting?
