Widowhood Rights
February 2, 2007 - 08:18 AM

The rights are being trampled upon in Africa. Widows are like outcast in most part of Nigeria.

This is aform of violence against women and this trend needs to be checkmated.

What do we do as youth to solve this problem.

Widowhood right, I agreed with you that the right of women had been transpired and this menace we must surely find a solution to. I happen to be a son of a widow and this really interest me because I knew what it takes to be a widow. Tradition the number one thing that needs to be checkmate in widows suffering, many of these widows really suffer as a result of not wanting to marry the elder or younger brother to the deceit and this brings about suspicions that the woman is involved in the death of her husband. What we can do as a youth is to encourage the women or our parents to be involve in daily work or business to keep them busy for that they can be able to have something to feed on when they eventually lost their husbands. Another factor is that women needs to be educated to know what their rights are, this way they can be able to stand their ground when they lost the love ones.
