Youth Taking The Lead....!
February 1, 2007 - 05:30 AM

Youth have been identified as more vulnerable to HIV/AIDS some years ago,
Like a friend once said, a man whose house is on fire does not go to sleep.
What is the role of youth towards a free HIV / AIDS society?

I believe the first innitiative towards fighting HIV is to fight drug use among the youths-that's if they are to take a lead in the fight against hiv. I arrived in Ghana on the 25th nov 2006 and i was and am still shocked by the daily increasing use of marijuana. This drives the youths into promiscuous activities (totally unplanned for)and thus hiv is on the increase in a country that knows a little, if anything at all about it.

first and foremost, the role of the youth in fighting HIV/AIDS is getting the most information and enlightenment about the disease which starts with studying the causative agents, epidemiology, manners of infection and thereabout. ignorance leads to suffering and death. once enlightened, the youths wil be able to take bolder steps in the right direction so as to avoid being infected as well as maintain the population status of the youth.l
