youth forum

my country has been in a recent civil conflict which left many homeless and worse off than before. youths were forced to join in with militants and help in the killing. now our country is going through a constitutional reform which will end soon. i am trying to set up a day for a youth forum whereby youths will deliberate about what they want in the Constitution and Government since they are the worse affected by the civil conflict apart from women.
could anyone give me more ideas to strenghten my argument for this youth forum since i am going to present this as a proposal to the sponsors.
thanks

I salute you for your noble idea.
The body which drafted our 1987 Constitution had a member representing the youth. I think you should lobby for that. A Constitution contains a nation's ideals and aspirations, and whatever is written there would affect future generations. It would also be the documentary basis for specific legislations which would surely include laws on youth welfare (such as education)and even voting privileges (like the minimum age to be qualified to vote). To have a forum which would offer you the venue to discuss your ideas and opinions on a very important document is therefore necessary. It could also serve as a youth group which would discuss on whatever is deliberated and debated upon by the drafting body during the whole process.
That's my two cents worth. Good luck!
