Rape! rape!! rape!!!

This trend has been another problem our world is facing now. This doesn't matter who is invloved as it is a very dirty deal and as such must dealt seriously with.
Recently a notorious Liberia rapist esape police custody incollabration with a policeman who gave him a spear key of the prison room and this rapist vowed to clean up any of his rape actions which simple means will not leave victims alife as per evdient.
So what do you think of rape? have you been victimised or somebody you know? What do you think our government can do to fight against this evil?

WOW. That is just ridiculous. How dare that policemen let the man go? How about if his daughter is attacked and killed? Don't you think he will be upset on how the government has failed him but in terms he has failed our government. People like him fail our government everyday. An old friend of mine went through rape, i can have no idea of what she went through, it musst have been crazy. Especially since most people do not believe her. I know what it is liked to be attacked and....get away. My uncle's 30th birthday party will always play through my mind when a guy grabbed me to go downstairs and i kicked him and ran upstairs told my mom, and ran into the bathroom. I let the men of the family handle it. I believe if the cops were called, nothing would have happened. The government has made it impossible for women or even men to tell of their stories because they are scared and frightened. Even if something were to be done, it would take months of probing and it would be big news. Some people just wanna be left alone with their lives. I just wish people felt more comfortable to tell other people but with situations like this...the policeman letting the rapist free...i doubt their will be comfort any sooner.

I suggest the sever punishments for the rapists, they destroy the lives of the other just to satisfy few moments...if few are given sever punishments in public others would learn a lesson...

I am going to translate this into English:
I agree that raping of girls especially of younger age has become a serious problem allaround the world, at least according to what I know in my country Rwanda. Some people (adult males) claim that raping young girls will cure them from AIDS!!!! you understand to which point people are mistaken.
There is of course other reasons but the danger lies in the above and we have to fight against it.
Governments must introduce severe punishments for perpetrators of rape via judiciary institutions, including the police, and to be able to mobilize the population for demonstrating the negative impact of rape, especially because there is a risk of contmination others [amongst the population] with AIDS and STD.
For me each and every effort in this direction is of much importance, especially because if it is a child of my neighbor or someone else, the next time it might be my child or my little sister.
Bonne chance!

Oh my God!*
Can you please dear members of tig and friends assure me of the origin of the belief that sleeping with young girls cures AIDS? Can I say it is a biological explanation? Can I say it is superstition? Can I say it is what??*
This is the second time in my life (and only on tig) that I'm getting to this. One was from Kenya, now this is from Rwanda.
My dearest friends and global loving citizens, be present in your inner bodies and preach AGAINST this as much as you can because if gets into ears of the wrong ones, then ...
Thanks for bringing up this Mnopq and tuyivic.*
Peace, Saidi

Can we consider forced marriage as a form of rape too? 13-year-old girls are forced to marry so that their parents can be free from feeding and educating them.
If you meet a guy on the net and decide to meet him in person and you go with this guy to his house and then bam! forced sex...some cops won't even charge your rapist as rapist. They think that since you go out with this guy, sex becomes consensual. Can you not argue that you feel you are sexually violated because you feel that way?

Which age can anonymously agreeing suitable for teenagers to get marring? I think it should 18years. Secondly, no responsible parents will give out their daughters or sons immature inspite of condition unless they are not the biologycal parent of the child.

First of all, let us agree that according to wikipedia, the fact that sexual intercourse with a virgin is a cure against HIV/AIDS is a myth.
Second, I will quote the following excerpt from this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HIV_and_AIDS_misconceptions#Sexual_intercourse_with_a_virgin_will_cure_AIDS ; it contains also a brief explanation of the origin of the virgin cleansing practice:
Virgin cleansing is a myth that has occurred since at least the sixteenth century, when Europeans believed that they could rid themselves of a sexually transmitted disease by transferring it to a virgin through sexual intercourse. Although the exact prevalence of this is unclear, it is believed to occur worldwide (Meel, 2003; Groce et al., 2004). Doing so does not cure the infected person, but it will expose the victim to HIV infection, potentially spreading the disease further. This myth has gained considerable notoriety as the perceived reason for certain recent sexual abuse and child molestation occurrences (Meel, 2003).
Peace,
Ayman

Too many of my friends have been touched by sexual assaults and harassment. Way too many. And I often pride myself on living in Canada, a place that has so many benefits and opportunities in comparison to the world, but I can't even explain how little faith I have in the police, at least the police I've dealt with or friends have dealt with. The friends who decided to go to the police after sexual assault incidents or harassment .... the situations were dealt with very poorly. Those friends haven't gotten past it. The friends who didn't go to the police found it much easier to move on and not let it hold them back.
It's disturbing to me that we can have such little faith in our protection agencies, and have valid reasons for not having faith in them.

Young girls aside, women are being raped. on a daily, minutely basis. In the US, every 17 minutes a woman is sexually assaulted. In Africa, it's every 250 seconds. To me, it does not matter whether it is a woman or a girl. Well, it does because I have friends who were raped when they were 7, 10, 12. But women getting raped is a huge human rights issue that needs to be addressed. In fact, I'm very involved in womens' rights movements and to me, this is the biggest, most widespread most important human rights issue facing us today.

normally when you think of rape you think about someone walking or jumping from the bushes and attacking you. however, you would never expect a corrections officer to give the rapist the key and let him go free. in the state of FL sex offenders have to by law let their communities know that indeed they are sex offenders

This is definitly disturbing to me. To think that a rapist was let go...it is like the police do not even care. Someone made a good point...what if it is your sister or daughter or wife that is raped next time? I bet all of the sudden this policeman would definitly care then. Like the person above me, i think it is important to have to register as a sex offender if you have commited that crime. It is important for everyone that lives around you to know this, because it is very possible it could happen again. Once an offender, always an offender, even if they do not commit the crime again.

Rape is a problem in most countries and this is a concern asspecialy cause small children are the victems, I mean it was bad enough that women were raped but to rape little boys and girls is insain and not human. The death sentence should come in to play for these ANIMALS.
