Thinkquest Competition: 15 & Under
January 28, 2007 - 12:36 PM

Hello,

I'm trying to create a team for an international website competition called Thinkquest. The goal is to create an extremely informative website that has a clean design. So far, we have 2 members(both age 15) and one primary coach. We are experienced web designers that have won various competitions in the past. We live in California, USA and we would prefer to have people out of the country because diversity, effective collaboration, and different points of view play an important role in this competition. We're hoping for at least 2 more international members with the age of 15 or under to join our group.
Oracle tries to promote global collaboration, so instead of just joining a team in my school, I would like to create an international team since part of the rubric includes collaboration, diversity, and community(30/100pts). You can view judging evaluation criteria that will be used here(http://www.thinkquest.org/competition/evaluation.shtml). There are topics listed on the site here on the right(http://www.thinkquest.org). Having knowledge in web design is not required, the team would also need at least a couple good writers, editors, and researchers to create the content needed on the site. A LOT OF INFORMATION ABOUT OUR TOPIC IS REQUIRED(if we're hoping to win)!
If everyone works together well we should no problem of winning, 1st place is a laptop computer worth $1,500 USD and a free trip(including airfare etc.) to Thinkquest Live, a prestigious event for winners of the event. 2nd place is a laptop worth $1250 USD and a trip to Thinkquest Live. 3rd place is a laptop worth $1000 USD and a trip to Thinkquest Live. Honorable Mention is a Laptop computer with approximate retail value of $750 USD and a trip to Thinkquest Live. Also, there is a Global Perspectives Award which is a digital camera with approximate retail value of $750 USD with a trip to Thinkquest Live.
Note: Every member of the team gets the same award. IE: If a team wins 2nd place, all members of that team will get a laptop worth $1250 and get a trip to Thinkquest Live.
