Human Trafficking
March 16, 2010 - 07:37 PM

Human Trafficking-the illegal trade of humans for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation or forced labor; a modern-day form of slavery and the fastest growing criminal industry in the world.

Human trafficking is tied with illegal arms as the second largest operation after drug trade. This situation which is going on in numerous countries is obviously a growing problem. The U.S. State Department estimates 600,000-800,000 men, women, and children are trafficked each year across international borders. This shows that human trafficking is a global issue that needs to be dealt with.
Innocent people are being drugged and used for various things and being held against their will.

To be able to make these numbers go down action needs to be taken...But what kind of action is there that average citizens can really take?

Get the word out! Make a website, pass out fliers, promote knowledge about human trafficking. Show people that if they know more about human trafficking, they can help prevent it!
