The Message - Why Not Listen?
January 12, 2007 - 07:18 PM

Everyone in the world has a message. A tale of truth, honestly, horror and faith. Not everyone gets listened to. I too have a message, the message that the things that sometimes happen in life will lead to greater things. That those things that can go wrong, will always become the better things that you will can appreciate. To help people when they need to be loved the most, to protect and survive in the horror we sometimes call life. There is no perfect delivery of a message; it’s what you feel in your heart, think in your mind and live within your soul.Every teenager in this world has something they want to say, but a lot of them just get pushed aside and ignored. The youth that do get heard sometimes are unwilling to take it a step further for a number of reasons. Not every adult is alike, and sometimes more often you will come across an adult who appreciates youth and their abilities to expresses their point of view on current society. These youth have used their time to volunteer in what they feel important in their lives, and yet, most of them go on though their teenage years not acknowledged or appreciated.
More times than I would like to see, negative message’s reach further than the good messages that you want to be heard about this ever growing population of young people and it’s these negative things that lead to the stereotypes and labels that are created for simple things like how we dress or act in certain types of atmospheres. Which in reality doesn’t give those who want to step outside of the box a chance to prove that no two people in this world are identical. It’s the youth who take the time to volunteer regularly who have made the smallest difference, one you may not notice right away, but it’s there. Why is there so much of a fuss when one teenager decides to stand alone and try to make the difference we all know that is needed desperately? When you change someone’s mind, it’s possible to change society’s opinions on how teenagers are viewed upon in this world, So why not take a stand, and let those youth, who eventually will become the working men and women of today, get their message across.

Lets understand and act

I totally agree with you Janiice on most of your points. Its really fine that you have expressed your thoughts. Allow me to add on that, in trying to let the society understand us, we should first try to figure out why the older members of the society see up this way. I think its the way we are materialistic blinded. Most of us measure standards using money and thats where we should begin to decolonise our minds.
