Good question. I am not sure about your countries but in mine (Kenya) the first step would be to educate people on what MDGs are because majoriity of the people don't know. the next would be to educae them on what they can do and social mobilization.

I think that you have said the correct thing. However, another question is, who is to teach who?I remember in my college at Egerton, we had come up with the Idea of holding seminars to sensitize the communities an the simple Millenium Development Goals suc as Health Sustainable se of water resources, and enironmental conservation. However, it never took place because of lack of support from our institution. So, I believe that out there, are a few who may Know these Goals at household levels, but the question of how to reach a wider audience becomes the isue.Discussing it here gives us a reason to seek ways of joining hands to enlighten the masses especialy the youth on these MDGs.Any one with a sugestin?

MDG is not what can be discuss without active focus on a particular issue. The youths are the key factor that can make this vision come to a reality but the questions is "How will does this the youths in different nations come together to achieve goals" Yesterday I read a post from a group that I belong to and someone rightly said "He wants to publish ideas of graduate from institution and he said "Graduates from the University". This is what we are saying before we can fight against some things and make others grow as well, we must be able to get there opinions without being biased. MDG is both an individual and collective goal and it can only be achieved if the youths will come together and all hands on desk.

I think we need to be in contact with community organizations to know what they have been doing.

In my experience a lot of local capacity, involvement of local community, civil society and community based organizations already happens in all communities, whether they are in developing countries or industrialised countries. Often because they are not as ‘sophisticated’(as some people suggest) they are not recognised??

Before we can bit our chest and say we have done it, it inculcate the involvement of the local community, one will ask, who are the local communities..... the defination of this sector gives us a clear view on how best community can participate.

I guese the best tool is to have a face to face enquiries and monitoring of the communities involved and to ensure that every project anjoins all the stakeholders.I believe that when we will move from TOP-DOWN FLOW of decision making process to BOTTOM-UP FLOW of decisions, then the beneficieries will be able to say, "Indeed, I have felt an impact."big grinbig grin

Hi everybody,

My name is Osée Résidor, from Haiti.
This is a good question.

According to me, it is very impotant to think about the way to educate and to make sensitization for all people living in our community about the MDG and
