[Poll] Should Standardized Tests count so much?

In America the school systems rely heavily on standardized tests to see if schools are teaching right, and to see how intelligent the student is. We take SATs or ACTs that Universities and Colleges look at that base their decisions on accepting us. These tests only test us on basic facts, math, writing etc. and do not test how creative we are, our teamwork skills, or how innovative we are when it comes to solving a problem. Do you think that Universities and school systems should rely so heavily on these standardized tests? Also how much do standardized tests count in other countries?
Should school systems rely on Standardized Tests to see how well they are teaching and how intelligent their students are?

Should Standardized Tests count so much? The answer is definitely a "no". These tests, as you have said, only test on basic facts of math and so on and don't test our creativity. It is unfair to those students who are poor test takers but are excellent writers and artists and so on. When applying for schools, they are just a piece of paper with numbers on it. Shouldn't they be represented fairly with an interview or like some schools, a beautifully written essay? And what makes this even worse is that standardized tests are stressed at such a young age. We are taught to be unique and to stand out, but how can we be taught this and taught to also be "standardized". We are contradicting ourselves and confusing the youth. My point is that we should be unique and not rely so heavily on these test scores.
