AIDS in Africa
March 15, 2010 - 10:54 AM

The AIDS virus is obviously a problem in Africa. The issue is what can be done. I recently read in an article for school, that Africans are mostly silent and ashamed of this disease; they pretend it cannot happen to them and they carry on as usual. In addition, usually when a woman does try to request use of a condom she is beaten, humiliated, or thrown out onto the streets with no money in many occasions. That being said, I don't think there is anything foreign powers can do. Even if we were to try to help, we can not force condoms on people. I think for the AIDS situation to change it has to come from the inside. Foreign powers can supply meds and supplies but its going to take drastic change from the inside.
