America is telling everyone else to disarm Nuclear weapons and biological weapons but dusn't america also contain bombs such as these? IF they have rights to keep them then y shouldn SADDAM keep his?

I've seen this debated on many threads, and I think there is a real lack of information from educational institutions about regarding this issue. During the Cold War, when states were developing WMD technology, the buildup of these weapons were used as deterrants and assertions of power. The Nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty, which i believe was enforced in 1970, was thus created to keep a stable number of nuclear weapons in states that had WMD already, and disallow states who did not have WMD to gain access to them. With Iraq, as with other states such as North Korea, the powers are afriad that the regimes will use the WMD forcefully. Of course it would be ideal that every state eliminated their WMD, but that can not be the case as they are used for purposes stated before. What is concentrated on foreign policy now is limiting the threat of other states developing nuclear programs, especailly middle eastern states in which terrorists will have easier access to the WMD once they are in their resident states.

I like that last post, basically you have it. These powers (US, Russia, China ect.) having these weapons is almost positive because each major power has the other in check - this hold the powers more or less stable.
For 'rogue' nations such as Iraq or DPNK to posses such weapons is destabilizing because they are interested in a new world order and will use their WMD'S to destabilize international politics so as to acheive a new power position
I am not judging any of these moves in power politics, but this is hpw the board is set up.
