There is too much pollution in the world. The pollution is causing our Ozone layer to start having holes in them. The pollution is letting ultraviolet rays to come through and that isn't good. Parents should stop driving their kids to school because that is adding to the pollution. The kids live near the school, the school is at walking distance.

Plus if adults carpool with other coworkers that could also reduce pollution in the city.

Pollution is something the world can actually make less.

An Old Persian expression says:"the best school is the nearest one".
Walking to a nearby school is to the benefit of the environment and health.

In reply to the above post by rachel25;
The hole in the Ozone layer is not caused by fossil fuel pollution nor is it affected by CFC's from the older type air conditioned units. It is caused by our space exploration and passenger jets etc as CFC's are heavier than air and never get into the upper atmosphere unless taken there by rockets or planes .

I think now it is difficult to completely eliminate the large proportion of environmental pollution on the surface of the ground or even prevent this ratio from rising, but we can take some steps which can reduce this imminent danger.

These steps are usually agreed at international conferences and meetings, but unfortunately they remain outside into the application!!

I agree to your point on carpooling & student to reside near school, but at the same time we need to see our instinct to check pollution by planting more & more saplings in a vacant area, minimizing usage of newspapers, pollution check on cars to be done every now & then, banning the use of plastic bag. These are some of ways by which we can decrease pollution from environment & lead a healthier life.

There is too much pollution and that is why we all have to think of ways to recycle, reuse or reduce.

Yes. Governments who sign the conventions and treaties are responsible for the acts. It seems people (through the parliaments and the press) and the respected UN organization are to make sure the responsibility is carried out.

I agree that if we add nice walking/biking paths more people will use them as transportation or for pleasure. In my community, they recently added a nice new bike path and now tons of people use it. As well as making walking to work/school more enjoyable, adding paths also give youth something to do other than sit inside all day and do nothing. Youth, adults and the environment can benefit from adding nice new bike paths

you're having a laugh guys and gals thinking you can save the planet by recycling at home. industrial pollution is what's killing the planet but profit comes before pollution and until we produce for need instead of profit pollution will be ever present.cool

I absolutely agree, if you are in a reasonable distance why not walk or bike it's better for the environment and your health for that matter!

You can say that again. Some people don't care on what is happening on the environment and that is sickening.
