closing gender gap
December 8, 2006 - 03:31 PM

gender inequality pose a great treat to our society, more espceailly to the socail economic and political development in the world. as it has become increasing clear around the world that investment in women pay off many-fold, when women are given opportunities for education, access to resource, and a place at the political table, not only is their equality of life improved, but studies have shown that economies are straightened, health care is enhanced, families and marginalized groups are given attention.
all say yes to gender equality!!!

As long as I knew, woman are number ONE agent of civilization / development, for example, when a woman is married, she goes out with her
own culture etc.to the new enviroment likewise she is exposed to second new learning opportunity to where she is marring and as such her kids are entitled to know more than a culture and
exposure.
The more our woman are exposed to their respossiblities the better.

women have participated in and suffered from war for centuries, they have been virtually excluded from all stages of decision-making, from the commencement of hostilities to the conclusion of peace.

War is only one of many forms of violence to which women are subjected world-wide. There are other types of violence which affect most women at some point in their lifetime, regardless of their class, colour, religion or culture, and which can be equally devastating, even life-threatening. Every day, women are battered, sexually harassed, abused, raped and psychologically tortured in the home, the workplace and society.

Yet the problem of violence against women has only recently been recognised as a crime and major obstacle to equality, development and peace. In effect, peace - a fundamental human right - has been systematically denied to half the world's population for centuries, irrespective of the type of political and legal systems under which they lived. A woman's right to be free from danger and fear for her personal safety within the home, the workplace and society.
