How does Islam view other religions?

There is indeed a very clear Islamic view of religious diversity. Within which, there is consensus among scholars of various sects in Islam, as well. Actually, Islam held this idea since the dawn of history.
God has been sending prophets to different nations at different stages through out the history of humanity. This was to provide people with divine guidance as to how to live on this earth. Such prophets include Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus. Muhammad was the Last of these prophets. Muhammad never claimed that he was teaching a new religion. On the contrary, he has always declared that his mission was to restore the pure religion, taught by all other prophets, completing the prophetic chain.
Based on this premise, Muslims believe in the divine origin of many religions. The differences that exist among religions result simply from misinterpretations and deviations, which have taken place over centuries. Islam holds that the Qur'an as the final version of the scripture of God. Thus it has been protected from corruption for all time.
Hence a Muslim missionary would ask Christians, for example, to return to the teachings of Jesus, giving up the additions and accretions to Christianity after the time of Jesus. If they do so, they will reach the pure religion, taught by Jesus, which in itself is simply Islam. 'Islam' means peace through submitting to God. Thus,Islam ought to be the name of the Religion taught by all prophets. So, this Muslim belief is the basis of the tolerance of Islam towards other religions; that many of the religions were originally the same religion.[/b][/b][/b][/b]

No religion consider the other reiligion as true religion. No religion consider the other as a substitute of itself..You camt win with a hypocrite and a lierand that who argues for arguments sake.

Dear Jalalzai,
I read your article very keenly. What I strongly feel here that everyone should profess their religions inside their four walls only. Outside it, yours is a global religion without any discrinination towards any faith not even telling others what is good about own religion. World will then be a beautiful place to live in.

yes i do agree with u Mr. Sandi Pani,, actually the world is facing a problem that no religion have the tolerance to bear or to live in coherence, but this is not the positive way. If there is tolerance, relations and coherence between the religions then we can live, and we want to live in peace,, no one wil never ever be in conflict.
