Human Trafficking is slavery!!!

It is the third biggest criminal activity worldwide. Human Trafficking is a growing humanitarian issue along with arms and drugs trade.
According to the International Labor Organization, 12.3 million people are enslaved in force labor and the majority are ususally sexually exploited. 80 % are girls and women and 50 % are minors.
Shattered lives, constant fear, starvation, rape, abuse and no where to escape to is what they face.
I remember the very first time I travelled abroad, I felt so out of place and so disoriented, even though I spoke fluently with the locals there, yet I was so home sick and so scared I felt very tiny and the tall buildings of LA looked very harsh compared to the humble buildings of Cairo. I was there on my own accord though, I wanted to go.
Imagine that it wasnt your choice to leave home, that you were snatched out of your comfort zone and into the darkness. You dont know where you're going, you dont know what they'll do to you, you know nothing at all.
All you see is darkness within darkness that spreads.
You're beyond scared, you're cold and you're hungry, and no: you cant call home!!! Next thing you know, you're chained and you have no identity. You're being sold, and its just the begining.
Its a sign of the times my friends when we start selling each other.
Its beyond sad, its tragic.
By this time tomorrow, 36,000 PEOPLE WILL BE TRAFFICKED.
What are we doing about it???

Human traffic is a menace which eats us up. the thing about it is not far fetched, because to some it boast their economy while some it decays them... I think the international society should come under one voice to stop this vice.

Human trafficking goes way back in time . it is like an on going trend . it assumes various shapes and styles, though.
it was in ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece. then later during the Islamic era, medieval Europe, discovery of the Americas and then now . notice the time line . ancient , then middle of the road then till our day and age.
slaves were shipped like cargo. it is beyond me , why do human beings throughout , history could not manage to put an end to it?!!!!!!
this is one thing that we need to know how to fight. it is elusive, dark and very very lucrative to those who master such a trade. Maybe, it all comes down to awareness or maybe more sanctions.

Hey don't forget the millions of Cornishmen taken into slavery by the North Africans. It was wrong then, it is wrong now. There are many forms of slavery, the sex trade is a particularly nasty form and if you men do not alert the police when you visit these places, even anonymously, you are as guilty as the men that traffic them.
There are other ways that people are enslaved through work that doesn't pay enough and they have to buy from a company store.
If anybody knows anything about this filthy trade they should tell the police. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jo Devizes knows a womens website that is rather good.

Are police to be trusted? Are n't most of them partners in this inhuman flesh trade?

Yes Siddiq, you have a very real point there. In my innocent way, I was thinking about my comfortable life in the UK where, thankfully, most of the police can be trusted. I am aware that this is not the case in many other countries but we must try.
It could be a different way if, perhaps you can get the Press or other media interested, if you do not trust the police.
What ever happens, we cannot stand by and let this happen.
Silence only adds to the problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jo Devizes knows a womens website that is rather good.

Human trafficking is a global issue that should and needs to be dealt with. Over 200,000 children are at high risk of sex trafficking and exploitation in the U.S. every year. Just imagine your neighbor or friend is at the risk of being involved in human trafficking. We as communities and cities need to make our fellow friends and neighbors aware of this major issue and deal with these organizations.
People caught involved with the human trafficking industry should serve a harsher penalty to get the message across. No matter if it's longer sentences or higher fines. Something needs to be done to stop this disgusting act of human trafficking.

Human trafficking is not something that should be thought of as a small problem. like the post said it is a growing issue as if it weren't big enough already. Nothing is being done or atleast not enough. Human trafficking goes against human rights. People who witness or even experience this should do and say something, not only them but the community also. If nothing continues to happen, things will keep spiralling out of control and the people being trafficked will continue to increase..

Yes people human trafficking is going on in the world today and is all around us!
Human trafficking is when an individual is held against their will either through forced fraud or coercion to perform an act for another persons economic gain.
There are more than 30 million slaves in the world today, more than at any other point in human history!Young boys and girls in every city on the globe today are forced to serve as sex slaves, men, women and children are forced to fight wars in the jungles of Africa, forced to service men in brothels in Cambodia even in New York, forced to make bricks in India etc. It happens in a variety of forms across the world, we need to wake up and acknowledge that this is really going on and that we need to do something about it. There are many ways that we can help, i started by donating to Rhapa House, they are an organization fighting child trafficking and sexual exploitation by bringing hope and freedom.

And if this isn't bad enough, these people are drugged with deadly narcotics and fed nothing but. In many cases these people try to "get out", but the addiction has a very powerful hold on them now. So even though hey want out they can't live without the drugs making them slaves to drugs... it is a vicious cycle.
