Whats This World Coming Too...
October 29, 2006 - 03:41 PM

Have you noticed, that the world is all about how fast things are done, and finding ways to make everything faster... i find it sad that everything is being produced so fast, because it makes the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer because we all pay taxes for these fast productions, and well i don't think we should have robots doing everything for us, computers are great but don't make them do everything for you... i think this world is getting lazy, but then again none of the big company's complain because "speed = profit" why would they want to change anything.. and with fast production comes a over stalk of stuff, and a waste of natural material...
(did you know it takes thirty-five and a half minutes to build a flat screen tv... and how many people can afford these)

so what im asking is...
-What do you think of the worlds company productions?(good or bad)

-Should robots(AI or computers) be doing everything for us?

-Do you believe that we are advancing in technology to fast, and become lazy because there's even computer built houses that open doors for people..?

I think it is a bit stereotypical to say that everything gets done fast, while many things dont, and it is also a bit stereotypical to say that we waste natural resources, cause many technological inventions are aimed at reducing the waste which hitherto was inevitable to avoid.

However, it is true that much of technological advent makes many people, especially in the West, lazier, cause "things get done not by humans but machines" as you said.

P.S. I am moving this thread to the Technology and Innovation board. It suits there more.

Speed, efficiency, quick results, better margins, profitsare all words from a recent business vocabolary utilized by so many wannabe, would-be and real businessmen.

World is getting more and more competitive. Stiffer competition means creating advantage on anything and everything. Thus essential, but not necessarily yielding what is good or expected, become speed and efficiency.
