Since I was born on this occupied land , I have heard people around me saying we hope that the next Eid El_ fiter will be come and we will celebrate at same time that Palestine will be liberated from the Israeli occupation , establishing our independent state and Jerusalem as a capital of it and refugees return to their native homes ……
But in fact this situation haven't been changed , in addition to continuing of killing Palestinian civilians , imposing siege , increasing of poverty and unemployment range , destroying Palestinian houses and also increasing of prisoners and settlements numbers …. Every Palestinian family celebrate Eid with big pain because all of them have sad experience as losing someone, have injured or prisoners or they have not home to stay .
I think we have the right to celebrate Eid without hearing the bomb sounds , seeing the views of destroyed houses and agricultural land ..
Finally , I will say as my people have said that I hope that next Eid and we celebrate in our independent state and also getting our rights ….
Happy Eid for all

Eid Mubarak my Friend,
Inshallah ! your dream will definitely come true...
I wish people of the world make an honest decision to shed all the violence and stand up against the forces of conflict and violence( starting from their own countries and countrymen)
there is definitely some tiny improvement in the situation of Afghanistan. The progress is slow but its happening. My friends in Kabul tell me that come what may they dont want to ever ever go back to the violent past !!!!
they are trying their level best to make the democracy work and not be hijacked by corrupt and extremist warlords...
check out this tiny ray of hope amidst turmoil;

Afghanistan: UN official honours winners of first-ever girls football competition
Kabul girls football
3 August 2006 – A senior United Nations official today presented a trophy to the winners of the first-ever Kabul Girls Football Competition, a milestone event for young women in Afghanistan, where their rights were severely curtailed under the ousted Taliban regime, and voiced hope that sports would inspire them to pursue all of their dreams.
“Sports provide children of all ages, boys and girls, with opportunities to express themselves, to contribute their opinions, and to become agents for change,” UN Deputy Special Representative for Afghanistan Ameerah Haq stated following the match, held at the Ministry of Defence Sports Field.
“Today’s competition marks a milestone for young girls in Afghanistan, who just five years ago were not even allowed to attend school, let alone play sports,” she said. “Hopefully, their participation in events such as this one will inspire young girls to pursue their dreams, in whatever fields interest them.”
Kabul boasts 15 girls’ football teams, consisting of young women from the ages of 13 to 20. The winners of today’s match will go on to face the winners of other regional competitions in the finals, under the auspices of the Afghanistan Football Federation.
All of the participants in today’s competition were presented with footballs made especially for the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) by disabled Afghans and paid for from staff donations. Over 1,000 footballs will be delivered to schools, orphanages and prisons across Afghanistan.
Iraq and Palestine will also see better days !!
Peace,
Anu
