Police Brutality in Egypt: SHAME!!!

It's amazing how a human being could carry so much brutality and hostility towards another human being. Police forces in Cairo are a perfect example of human rights violators. Whatever happened to the rule of PERSUMPTION OF INNOCENCE? Whatever happened to equality?
I just got back to Cairo for a vacation with my family, and its just shocking how 'police brutality' is so out there, yet everybody is silent about it. Whether the detainees are guilty or not, they are still beaten up constantly by the police inside and outside the police station before even being interrogated.
There's no reason / excuse whatsoever for police forces to mistreat civilians in such an inhumane way. Beatings, starvation, physical, mental and sometimes sexual abuse are a part of the equation.
My heart goes out to these people, whether guilty or not, How can anybody severely harm anybody else. Why?! I mean they even do that to people who are arrested during riots or demonstrations. Why? Why? Why?
Shame on anybody who misuses the power and authority granted to him. Because simply the police are mistreating the people they have sworn to protect.
Its sad and overwhelming, for real. Maybe awareness is the solution, but everybody knows about that already.
I do respect the fact that the police protect the society, and that is true. But aren't the people arrested are a part of this very same society?

I always ask myself that question too whenever I see police brutality on tv. It is an issue many countries face and have to deal with. Misuse of power and authority is a cover for many social, mental, and physical problems police officers deal with, unfortunately innocent civilian are most of the time victims of these 'mental instable' outbursts

Actually that usually happens if you are arrested but there are some good officers.
No awarness needed, people know all about it but can't do anything simply because the police has the upper hand when it comes to power, unless you've got BIG connections then they might stand chance.
In some countries police abuse their power and get away with whatever they do, its not the problem of the police its the people who refuse to fight for their right & take a stand.
