Based on his or her assessment, a physiotherapist then either plans an appropriate treatment program and carries out that program or refers the patient to another professional. The assessment is extensive and includes evaluation of pain and movement patterns, muscle balance, joint function, cardiorespiratory status, reflexes, and sensation. In addition, the physiotherapist examines relevant X-rays, laboratory tests, medical records and surgical notes. Due to their detailed knowledge in their areas of expertise, Physiotherapist are frequently called upon by physicians to establish clinical diagnostic problems related to physical dysfunctions prior to commencing treatment, or to determine if treatment is warranted.
Physiotherapist also evaluates overall functional ability, both in the work place and in the activities of daily living. They are trained to identify signs of non physical factors influencing motivation and the patient's percption of their problem and pain that can affect the duration and outcome of the rehabilitation.
Physiotherapy treatemnt can include exercise, manual therapy, electrical modalities, work hardening, as well as education and home exercise. Emphasis is placed on what the patient can do for him or herself and on the prevention of future injuries or disability. A physiotherapist promotes independence and facilitates patients taking responsibility for their rehabilitation,

I knew Physiotheraphy and I also Psychotherapy. They are means which can bring health for human without spending much money in curing. But they need much more time than.
I aslo care about traditional cure of many area or countries. Although some of them is not accepted in modern medical/medicine, they are useful if we have enough money as well as time, ability to study much more.
In poor countries I think that they have been existing in Yoga exercises, Buddhistic philosophy,.....

Well, I go to the hospital for it on a weekly basis due to my slipped cervical disk which affects my ability to move around.
It's ok. I find it a blessing.

Well one, my aunt is a physiotherapist and i have seen her in action.
Also in my experiences with physiotherapists we(dentists) work closely because we usually get patients who report with facial pains especially Temporomandibular joint problems and together with physiotherapist we try find better means of giving physical therapy rather than sending patients to an operating table which may results in adverse effects!
