GLOBAL WARMING, AFRICA

One of the core causes of starvation and generally food insecurity in Africa is undependable rainfall. While addrressing causes of support to areas of starvation is almost a priority, addrressing causes of such unreliable climatic conditions is almost non-existent. Infact, the situation is worsenned by ignorance on such matters as concerns climate and environment. But how can we wake up the slumber we, and especially, in Africa have over issues of climate and environment? While concerted efforts are visible on environmental issues, the aspect of climatic change is still viewed as 'more global' and not so much in our hands. This should change: and the youth should be in the fore-front. To champion this cause, and in readiness for the up-coming summit in Nairobi (November 2006), the youth in Nairobi will represent all the World-Youth, in alerting our governments and today's leaders about their neglect of global warming as a future menace, and their lack of policies, as a present cause, by means of nationwide peaceful demonstrations. I call upon all willing to support this cause to get in touch, and join in our preparations.
