my opinion is that it depends on the country, the globalization will have different impacts in different countries.

since I am from Romania I think that globalization would have a positive impact on the education here... we really messed up our education lately and there are loads of bad things happening...

we can't really focus on the subjects we'd like to develop in the future, because of the system... I, being in the 10th grade at a maths-programming class I only have 2 courses of programming /week, and the list can go on...

also, we have some exams at the end of 8th and 12th grade... this year, some journalists showed up where the local inspectors should've been to pick up the subjects for these tests, and they gave the subjects to the journalists, not even asking them who they are.

there were lots of discussions about this and the final solution was that all subjects at all courses should be given freely before the exams. there will be about 30-40 subjects at each course, which means about 90-120 subjects for a kid to "study". now, my and the teachers' opinion is that kids need to learn themselves, they need to learn the basics, they don't need to keep in mind 120 subjects all made on the same "scheme". after all, it's not a memory test, it's an education one. in this case, a kid can't use his creativity, his imagination, his skills, he can only use his memory ...
