keep the discussion going on !!!
its better that we vent our thoughts here than keep it to ourselves and vent it through some negative action ....

its very much important to keep the channels of communication open so there are lesser chances of misconception because of lack of awareness or knowledge .
If a handful of us are better informed then we can also enlighten our brothers and sisters and our friends and spread the message of peace !

I dont think there was ever peace in this world from the moment where humans, still in primordial times, started competing for territory, women, food, and other needs and wants.

Wars have been raged now and again and people died; what changed was the technique - the ability to destroy and tools necessary for it - and i dont believe there will be peace any time soon.

Even with an ever-increasing amount of bodies, institutions, prominent and influential individuals, nations and othe groups promoting world peace wars keep on raging and destroying not only human lifes but also other earthly resources and human creations, but most importantly the hope that there will ever be a lasting peace.

Unless something very drastic and totally mind-boggling happens with our societies - say a sudden change of values of countries andpoliticians or an imminent and vital threat from outside, meaning from other planets or galaxies (science-fiction perhaps) - things migth remain as they are, with now and then bursting unrest here and there...

'peace ' always had a meaning in negation i.e no war / cessation of war !

but i dont think peace is just a cessation of war ...its much more than that ...its about people respecting and understanding each other ....the war will end if peace begins...
But it is always thought that if war ends , peace will begin...
it might sound a tad utopian but nevertheless i think we should work on it ...
that is why i suggested that we all keep in touch ...and keep the channels of communication open come what may !

the only reason why humans survived as far as they did is the faith and the hope in the best.

so is it with peace: they always believed to be able to achieve peace and fought for it, except that it was an elusive goal.

but we have to fight for what we think is right, and peace seems to be one of such things.

There will never be peace as long as people still beleive that they find pleasure obtaining/maintaining power(not in the nergy sense).
To eliminate that need is to replace it with knowledge and understanding of others, and to be taught that the best thing in this world is love and that the criminal thing is to want power. Doing this takes the right education.

Ain't gonna happen, I'd count my chances with Eric Bana actually higher. lol.

Decency is lacking today after all.

To me peace in our lifetime is nearly impossible. There is no current solution to the problems of this world. Everyone has a different concept of what peace should be. so I don't see it happening.
