YOUTH CAMPAIGN
August 29, 2006 - 04:36 AM

Hello guys, I need your help. My Organisation will be organizing an MDG/ NEEDS Youth Campaign in Nigeria in October. I request for your ideas on how to make this event productive and issue based...

Thoughts on how to effectively engage the participants and more focus oriented. Strategies for a more productive and impactful conference.

Thoughts on issues/ topics for consideration and dialogue. Participants, pro active youth Organization, Resource persons, etc.

Thank you.

Firstly, you have to assert the current situation in Nigeria, concerning all 8 MDGs and then somehow put into picture where the youth stands(can stand). Essential also will be forging of youth alliances from other countries, especially with youth orgs, which have MDG experince.

The most important though is to prioritize, a bit like in Copenhagen Consensus in order "not to run after 8 rabbits and not get any" but rather to see the efforts towards the solution of which goal will have the greatest impact on local Nigerian situation, which will improve the most the current situation, having in mind the most important points usually being education, health care, and gender equality.

I cannot say more at this moment as i have no idea what are your possibilities in organizing this activity and what resources you have to include certain topics.

H.
