Understanding Iraq
February 22, 2003 - 09:09 AM

I know this is only one publication... but there is a wide array of perspectives here and I thought there were some very interesting points made. I will continue to read... If anyone has similar compilations or outstanding articles from other regional publications that will compliment culturally, socially, politcally and economically encompassing persectives from which we can gain some sense of depth of understanding... Please share...

Jara-

thanks for this well compiled list of views and ideas surrounding Iraq. I'm going to go through more of it and try to use some of the ideas and opinions in my speaking campaign on the issue I'm heading up here in California, US.

In peace,

Mike

Hey, Lewis -- I don't know either... My best guess is that it will only end once he has heartlessly murdered everyone on the planet who disagrees with him, although I'm desparately hoping it will end before that though. But right now, that looks like where the situation is headed...

It makes me think of a certain saying I like:
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose!
Apply that thought to the Bush and his issues, and one might see a clear connection. Well, I do anyways. He seems to be picking his friends' noses for them (although one might argue that he doesn't exactly have any friends!)

And thanks, Jarra, for the list! I haven't been able to look at them all yet, but already I can tell that this is going to be extremely helpful and informative. You're so great. smile

your collection underscores how other world issues (...fighting in southern philippine islands, afghanistan) have to compete for attention on the mainstream media radar.
