Internet Usage And Poverty

The much talk about ICT and digital opportunities is relevant to youths today but we must not forget that most african families cannot provide food for themselves and we are encouraging them to get used to the internet .On whose cost will it be?
Maybe we need to get involved on what to do to make the access to the internet in some african nations cheaper than what they get now before the digital divide campaign to them.I am not denying the importance of the digital opportunities in deciding on so many other issues like hiv, youth education and others .

well,
I totaly agrre that icts are important and that a great no of africans cannot afford it.On whose costs??I guess most our leaders if asked that question will think of the bretton woods institutions and tha eu and african development bank.In my case I think it is time for the very rich in Africa to sacrifice for such a cause,We did not help- the european union develop. We might blavme colonization but we must also remember that some countries in the west too were colonized. It is now our time to give for our on good.Sadly there very people who think like that, campaigns should be geared to change their attitudes.
