Let those who support Israel see what they do to civillians in the name of "the right to defend itself"

WARNING: there are some graphic pictures that might be too horrifying.

Its just but a small thing of what is TRULY happening there. Im sure seeing it live is far more worse.

This is unbelievable and unnacaptable what israel is doing to these people and no matter what all these propaganda machines and liars say. "The truth is on the side of the opressed"- Malik el shabazz (Malcolm X). SOMEBODY SHOULD STOP THIS MADNESS NOW.

Attacking Iran Will Not Stop the Violence in Lebanon
August 2, 2006 - 05:02 PM

http://news.newamericamedia.org/news/view_article.html?article_id=a427acd44810466c645328ada649989c

"Blaming Iran for the horrific violence between Israel and the Arabs of Lebanon and Palestine is a popular stance in the world today. But such finger-pointing will do nothing to stop the destruction going on in the region. Paradoxically, however, Iran could play a role in bringing about peace.

....

Iran makes a convenient scapegoat. It has no defenders. Americans and Europeans are already furious with Tehran over the development of Iran's nuclear program. The Sunni states in the region -- principally Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt -- are worried about growing Iranian power as Shiite forces throughout the region grow in influence. The Sunnis are uncomfortable defending the Shiite community in Lebanon, and are quite happy to have Iran bear the blame for the war.

Meanwhile, in the United States, neoconservatives are primed with a decade-long program to attack Iran that they have conveniently grafted onto the Hezbollah-Israeli conflict.

....

Washington should reject the neoconservative agenda and instead reach out to Iran. Many Westerners may find it hard to believe that Iran could ever play a positive role in a conflict of this sort. Yet Iran craves the respect of the international community more than any other commodity one might offer, and relishes the idea that it might be offered a respectful position as a peacemaker. Iran has hinted in the recent past that it would drop its hostile posture toward Israel if relations with the United States were to improve.

Though the Islamic Republic does not directly influence the actions of Hezbollah and Hamas, they offer a way to talk to the two groups. Iran has been willing to serve as mediator in the past in the region, notably in working with Armenia and Azerbaijan, and has garnered bona fides for its efforts.

Vilifying Iran is not doing anyone any good. But talking to them and asking them for a little help might do a great deal to bring peace to the region.

Its all about power & benefits, governments are willing to take this to extremes.
The end justifies the means.

Hayk - my concern with working with Iran is that they will

A - use this as leverage where their nuclear program is concerned.

B - ligitimize the Iranian practice of using terrorism as a tool of foreign policy and demonstraite that it gets them what they want.

They armed Hezbullah and sparked this violence - it does not seem wise to reward them for this -

they should rather be made to understand that arming terrorist organizations and militias throughout the middle-east will have a negative affect on their situation.

my other question is that since the destruction of Israel is the avowed policy of their country - and particularly their president - how can they contribute to peace in this matter?

I perfer we talk to the Syrians - Asaad seems the lesser of two evils when compared to Amadinejad.

Anyway - Romica - the only thing that will save Lebanon is a poltiical framework which disarms Hezbullah.

So long as Hezbullah sits on Israel's northern boarder with missils where it can attack and launch without anyone in Lebanon stopping them - then there simply will not be peace.

Israel is not going to sit quite in the face of attacks - and clearly Hezbullah will attack them without any real reason or provication - that is what started all this in the first place.

It is just a fact. Hezbullah started this war - they are hiding among civilians -

the only way out is for Lebanon to control its own boarders like any other country in the world.

if Lebanon does not control the boarder - Israel obviously is going to do it for them - but they will not leave it in the hands of Hezbullah.

I think it would be better for all involved if Lebanon took charge.

now I think it is in the hands of the UN - they have to determine a practical mandate for the international forces - then assemble and deploy the force.

It will not be long before "Israel" launches another war with Syria. This might seem impossible right now but a few years or even months from now, it will be a reality.

Luke is showing the same old tactic that most zionists and their allies use to justify launching wars. Right now we are all witnessing the planned war that "Israel" is launching against Lebanon in action..and it does not need a genious to realize that the zionists wanted to wage it regardless of Hizballah's actions against them.

The severe destruction of Lebanon's infrastructure that has nothing to do with Hizballah in addition to the indiscriminate bombardment that killed mostly the innocent civilians prove that the Israeli generals wanted to pave the way for the next war ...with Syria no matter what the consequences are. The main objective for them right now is to destroy Hizballah to completely isolate and eventually threaten Syria , and help eliminate the Iranian influence in south Lebanon.

It seems quite obvious that the attacking Beirut was in Israeli political agenda. The scale of it does not prove otherwise.

Hizbullah must have had some reason for attacking Israel as over-reactive Israel takes revenges very very seriously. Whatever the reason was for both sides, they are truly displaying their embecility by making such a fuss out of the preceding events. I would very much like to know why the two soldiers were kidnapped. Is it not possible that the soldiers did something that provoked the abduction?

I am also quite concerned with the rising levels of violence in the region. It seems that Iraq is also heading for a civil war. I really hope that the violence stays contained within Israel and Lebanon.

" I would very much like to know why the two soldiers were kidnapped. Is it not possible that the soldiers did something that provoked the abduction?"

huh? Are you kidding - yeah - they were sitting at their posts smoking a ciggerette - what are you talkign about - they were on the Israeli side of boarder -

Israeli soldiers hadn't been in Lebannon for 6 years - so what is it exactly that you imagine these two particular soldiers could have possibly done?

- for that matter don't you think that if these particular soldiers had done something Hezbullah would have said so already?

"Hizbullah must have had some reason for attacking Israel" -

sure - they wanted a prisoner swap - but saying they had "some" reason does not make it a GOOD reason.

I suppose they also had a good reason for kidnapping Journalists Terry Anderson and John McCarthy - or Archbishop of Canterbury's special envoy Terry Waite.

I suppose they had a good reason for hijacking TWA flight 847 -

in fact edpark88 - I am sure Hezbullah had a good reason for attacking a Jewish community center in Argentina killing 85 people -

what do you suppose their reason was for that action?

"It will not be long before "Israel" launches another war with Syria" - Palestian

umm... if Israel really wanted a war with Syria I would say now is the time - not sure what they are waiting for if they are as bloodthirsty as you say.

"This might seem impossible right now"

why is that? It is a matter of choice - Israel has complete military superiority over Syria -

Israel doesn't NEED to "pave the way" for a war with Syria - they could destroy Syria from the air and a war with Syria would be an air war.

If the Israelis were desirious of war with Syria - simply for the sake of having a war and for no better reason - then why hasn't it happened already?

so frankly I am not sure what your logic is - but you are certainly correct that the Israelis would like to eliminate Iranian influence in South Lebannon - that is a fact.

well even if there weren't Iran things won't be good between Israel and Arabs

I have a question WHO HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHO AND WHO CAN'T HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS ?? it's not just in the first place that some countries have the right to have nuclear weapons and others don't .....and let me be frank I mean c'mon who even were the first to use such weapons!

"They armed Hezbullah and sparked this violence - it does not seem wise to reward them for this -

they should rather be made to understand that arming terrorist organizations and militias throughout the middle-east will have a negative affect on their situation."luke

well luke not all of us look at this thing from the same point of view

"my other question is that since the destruction of Israel is the avowed policy of their country - and particularly their president - how can they contribute to peace in this matter?

I perfer we talk to the Syrians - Asaad seems the lesser of two evils when compared to Amadinejad."

If these two are like this then I wonder what words can we use to describe people like Sharon ,Shamon Parez ,Bush the 1st and the 2nd ....and others

"Anyway - Romica - the only thing that will save Lebanon is a poltiical framework which disarms Hezbullah"luke.

no, not really because this way as usual thw world is going to be tottally blind while Israel is doing anything they want killing ,destroying...etc but the only difference is that all of these things will be covered more from the rest of the usual

when have there ever been Peace ??it's not like things were Ok before this

"Israel is not going to sit quite in the face of attacks - and clearly Hezbullah will attack them without any real reason or provication - that is what started all this in the first place."luke

without any reason ?? again from our point of view israeli's are occupying our cpuntry so for us that is enough

"now I think it is in the hands of the UN - they have to determine a practical mandate for the international forces - then assemble and deploy the force"luke

I wonder why the UN should start reacting to things now when it didn't react to alot of the disigions concerning Israel actions

"It will not be long before "Israel" launches another war with Syria. This might seem impossible right now but a few years or even months from now, it will be a reality"Palestinian

well it doesn't matter for them how they are going to involve Syria and Iran the important thing is that they are going to do so

"I am also quite concerned with the rising levels of violence in the region. It seems that Iraq is also heading for a civil war. I really hope that the violence stays contained within Israel and Lebanon."edpark88

it seems that things are out of hand in alot of the places

"" I would very much like to know why the two soldiers were kidnapped. Is it not possible that the soldiers did something that provoked the abduction?"

huh? Are you kidding - yeah - they were sitting at their posts smoking a ciggerette - what are you talkign about - they were on the Israeli side of boarder "luke

what about other israeli soldiers and their actions ! ask palestinians what the words israeli's soldiers mean but have this ever changed anything ...even atleast how most of the westerns look at israeli's always as the victim NO

"Israel has complete military superiority over Syria - "luke

"well even if there weren't Iran things won't be good between Israel and Arabs"

that is undoubtably true - but Amedinejad seems intent on pushing toward WW3 - he is exploiting these feelings of anger and using it to increase Iran's power in the regoin - he is also arming and working with many terrorist organizations.

"WHO HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHO AND WHO CAN'T HAVE NUCLEAR WEAPONS ??"

Well I think common sense suggests that countries like Iran - who have the avowed policy of wiping out other countries completely - and who arm subgovernmental groups like Islamic Jihad, Hezbullah, Ansar al-Islam and the like - and who have a history of such support -

should not have nuclear weapons.

The chance that they would use them to destabilize the world - is FAR too high - they have had a limited increase of power and look at the result.

And I think the whole world recognises that if Iran got nuclear weapons it would trigger an arms race - Egypt and Saudi Arabia would soon follow - and it would be just a matter of time before we see nuclear combat in the middle-east.

Batoola - Hezbullah needs to be disarmed - I am not suggesting this should happen without some concessions from Israel - but

Hezbullah is NOT a government - they do not answer to the elected government in Beruit - they are armed to the teeth -

this is INHERENTLY destabilizing - that is why EVERY major country in the world recognises that Hezbullah must disarm.

for that matter the UN recognized the need to disarm Hezbullah 2 years ago in 1559 - because it was obvious that leaving them armed was a dangerous situation -

"when have there ever been Peace ??it's not like things were Ok before this " -

Well since 2000 - yeah there has been relative peace - not a single Israeli soldier has entered Lebannon since 2000 - until Hezbullah attacked on Israeli soil.

Also - Israel has made peace with Jordan and Egypt and that peace has been kept.

"again from our point of view israeli's are occupying our cpuntry"

what country is that? At the time of the attack Israel was not occupying Lebannon, and had not been for years - period.

although I do believe that it's not wise from a man in his position to say such things but I also do believe in "actions speak louder than voice" and if you want to tell me what about what's happening now then I tell you it's nothing compared to what the israeli army has been doing all of these years to the palestinians and now to the lebanese

no still maybe Iran said that in an obvious clear way but what about the Others who are doing whatever they won't without even being critisized ,the justice is that no country should be allwoed to have these kind of weapons because for sure with such power any country is going to use it for it's own good

Hezbullah is not a government that's true but you give me one arabian country that is doing what's good for their people or do you know what atleast represents the true ideas ,opinions ,principles and believes of it's people !
