Living in BioRegions, yay or nay?

This forum seems appropriate to talk about the book "Anarchy and Ecology" by Graham Purchase.
For those who are a little unsure about the idea of Anarchy in relation to Ecology Purchase explains that "the democratic decentralization of governing bodies to biolinked regions" is a logical plan to decrease political tyranny and decrease consumerism leading to things like climate change.
Basically, this book brings up the idea of making an entirely local economy. Each ecologically based community would grow various crops (not just the one desired by the largest urban center of the State) which would reduce crop monoculture, and the transcontinental flow of produce;
Telling us "agriculture can only be ecological when it is scaled to the specific ecology of the area."

Hey homme-blanc,
If you're still around, maybe you could paraphrase some of the ideas and if applicable, any practical suggestions from "Anarchy and Ecology"?
Since it appears as if no one has read the book this might generate some responses!
