Do you care for the outside more than inside?

you meet a person for the first time
you don't like the way they look
do you judge them for for the looks?
am not saying that looks are not important...but how much does the look and the appearance affect your judgment of the person you see fron of you?

Hi,
Actually as people in my country (Bulgaria) say: "you are welcomed by the clothes and sent by the common sense you show".Of course subconsciously when seeing sb for the first time, people try to analyze him in the first several minutes and "put" him in a certain category of their acquaintances, they know.They do it because they want to know how to act with this person and what they should expect like attitude from him.
Another thing is that clothes talk much about one's personality.The colours, the combination of materials, the type preferred (sport, sport-elegant, official,ethno) reveal the character. Especially the shoes.People can sense this and subconsciously try to judge the character of the person in front of them by the clothes.Of course it's another question whether they will give the chance to the person to confirm or not his so made "profile" 
What do you think?Do you judge people before knowing them?And if not, do you realize that you really don't do it?

I believe all people have a first initial reaction to people and that first reaction is almost always clothes. (Or if you met someone over the phone, it would be the way they talk and what they talk...same with internet) Its unavoidable to have such a reaction, I think its human nature. However once you get to know the person, you change your views. The first thought of my friends are very different from when I first met them. And I hope their view of me is also different now.

well, i cannot deny that i am actually affecte by a person's appearance when i first meet them, i'd usually check if this person is wearing nice clothes that give a wonderful combination together, i do feel that the respect they have for me is measured by thier clothes..lol!
however, i analyze and keep my judgement for myself to give the person chance to prove me either right or wrong

i totally agree with you when you say that this kind of reaction is not avoidable, we just HAVE to have it
you are right, the view changes when you get to know a person more

Yes, I maybe judge people at first glance by the way they are dressed.But what is more important for me is the look in their eyes,cause it is a mirror of their real personality. And I try to respect everybody until he proves he doesn't deserve my attention at all (by offending me intentionally or treating me badly).I don't like when people judge by the appearance,but I admit I do it sometimes,maybe subconsciously.But I try always to respect the other person because nevertheless his race, age, nationality, etc he is a human being, equal in any way with me.

I don't normally judge people on their looks.
In terms of dateability, then yes, looks are a large factor--why date someone who you're not attracted to, right?
Please have a lot to offer. If it be their skills, knowledge, outlook, etc. I do believe it is immature to judge people solely on their looks. And I blame the media and society for making people think that they have to look good or else...

well looks do matter but ultimately 2 a certain limit as i believe "all tht glitters is not gold" similarly a persons attitude ,behavior,nature,walks n talks matters a lot ..at least 2 me.. though i totally agree everyone mus be having different views..

i think its natural for us to care how we look on the outside...even if it doesnt project how we feel on the inside...
i must admit, sometimes i do judge by the cover rather than the content 
but i also believe that how we look on the outsideis only a small part of us...because our intellect and our personality are what truly defines us..

Honestly & logically speaking when u first meet somebody u judge by his appearance, I mean it'll be lying saying I like the personality without knowing the person. 
Nevertheless looks deceive so its not fair to judge by appearance alone.
Hey there is nothing wrong with being properly dressed u dont have to follow fashion to look great. 
People forget that physical appearances fade away or u get used to the way the person looks like, then come in personality if its not good/ interesting then its no good.
Im a believer of "there is more than meets the eye" and " personality is what counts"

i think we all judge people within the first few minutes that we meet them based on their appearance...but i usually keep this to myself until i really get to know the person..and i totally agree that our view changes when we know that person more
also, i think clothes and stuff somewhat tell about who you are so jugdement based on appearance are not always wrong.

It happenes alot with me , i dont judge people by their apperance but most of the times the one i like their apperance i like their charachters too is it related somehow i dont know ....

well appearence might matter initially for me !
But as I get to know a person who is really good , i find the person grow beautiful day by day
The smarter and the better the person sounds the more beautiful i find that person....
Looks do matter to a certain extent but honestly we cant spent a lifetime with that 'look' ...
if two people really like each other and have tonnes of things to talk about each new day than believe me ...they will keep on finding each other grow beautiful day by day !!!

I try not to judge people when I first meet them but t comes natrually to me. I do look at what the person is wearing, but I look at things such as if it's clean, if they look tidy, if it fits them. I'm pretty open to anyone who looks clean, and well kept.
I'm usually obsessed with looking that way too.
I judge people most by the way they speak. I try hard not to judge just by appearance.
