That's a little too pessimistic. I love everyone! Not everyone hates one another. The minority who hate people get all the headlines. My love will never be on TV!
Why do some people hate? Well, man is made to look after oneself first. If one feels threatened, one becomes protective either by aggression (as in Israel's case) or defence.
Man is also intelligent and you and I are capable of working out that if we all opened our arms and embraced one another, we'd be fine but the lack of trust between some people prevents that.
What we really need to ask then is why are people so incapable of forgiving and embracing the next person? How are we going to overcome this?

well, it's hard to know!!
i think it's kinda selfish, because when you hate you're only thinking of you, not giving excuses to other people ans shutting them out
maybe this way of thinking is the reason that makes ppl hate each other

have some optimism .... yes it is a fact that people hate each other...bull not all people are same...every individual is unique.
nothing is black or white my friend ...we all are mix of good and Bad.........

i think there so much hate in this world because when we was younger we was taught to hate people skin color in the history book and people are just hard head and nieve i think we should love someone for who they are

THE WORLD HAS BECOME A SMALL PLACE FOR OUR BIG EGOS.
WE ARE NOW APPLYING THE FIRST RULE OF THE JUNGLE IN OUR LIVES THAT IS "THE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST."
THIS IS THE TIME I REFER MYSELF TO AS THE TIME WHEN " LOVE DIED"
HUMAN BEINGS ARE NOT FULL OF HATE ITS ONLY OUR OBSESSION WITH DOMINATING OUR FELLOW BROTHERS THATS CAUSING ALL THE HATE. IF WE DONT DO SOMETHING ABOUT WE WILL END UP WIPING EACH OTHER OFF THE PLANET.
KEEP UP THE FAITH, LETS LEARN TO ACCEPT WHO WE ARE AND TRY TO LIVE SIDE BY SIDE NO MATTER WHO DIFFERENT WE ARE. THIS IS THE ONLY WORLD THAT WE HAVE. IMAGINE YOUR BEST FRIEND MOVING OUT OF LIFE, THINK ABOUT THE EMPTINESS AND LONELINESS YOU WILL FEEL.

I know that I have to be optimistic, I'm optimistic, but what I meant is that people should change thier attitudes, we r all human beings no matter from where we are or what we are, bieng urself and trying to make diffrence in the world is something challeging.
to hate someone or some people is somthing normal because it's our human nature, but to hate someone in the way to kill him, this is the unacceptable thing, we should think about it, ok,

Hatred in the world has proven to define the countries' borders, the world politics and consequently the people's destiny. As Mannfred says:'People unite in a nation on the basis of mutual misunderstanding about who they are; and mutual hatred towards their neighbours'. People have always tried to dominate over the others but I don't think that everybody hates everybody else. If we watch the news we only see how many people have died of different accidents during the day, what happens in Israel and Lebanon...they are talking only about the victims.They never show the good, sincerely deeds one does for the others.That's why we see only the negative side of the world.
I believe that people actually want to love the others but if they show this they become vulnerable.In recent days it's hard to understand who you can trust.I think that people need to become more tolerant toward each other and show it more often.

all the above are reason why people hate to the extend that war happens.
Then again not all people are like that, its not fair to generalize things.
I can say people in power are responsible for all the hatred & war bec if they were peaceful the world wouldnt be where it is now.

i believe that hate is a manifestation of fear and anger. people fear what they don't understand and get angry becuz they don't understand it.

what do you think power is actually? you are using it as if it was something mystical like in star wars. power is something everybody has to a certain extend. and if some have more than others than those who allow them to represent or even oprress them have a certain responsibility for that as well. greediness? do you know anything about economics dynamics? do you know about the laws of capital accumulation? even if a capitalist is a very nice person he/she WILL HAVE TO increase the profits and extend the production. otherwise he WAS a capitalist. a politician who is not unfair and hiprocritical will never be succussful in a world of rule and domination ... but since i know your favourite topic ...

the word "hatred" as we use it is not just an emotion, it contains ways of behaviour and ways of thinking. emotion, behaviour and thinking develope in a social background (if you are not tarzan). society is a historical grown monstrum of things (more or less usefull), interrelations and dynamics....
hatred has a lot of reasons. its like everything in the human universe MULTI CAUSAL. as you ask a question like that i guess you never felt such a thing? thats beautiful of you and shows you are a lucky person (one the very few on this earth). id suggest you start with asking people for their personal reasons for hating something or somebody. for instance me if you wish. when i was younger i felt a lot of hatred...

refer to the thread in culture & identity about seeing life as a joke or too serious.
If you start going around seeing all the hate, you are never going to see the goodness that most (is that too much? maybe some is a better word..) of the people around you have.
i agree with someone above, the 'problem' is ego and pride. people need to get away from thinking they are so important and that people care about what they do and just help someone, thus not being a hater.

Hatred along with other sentiments are "ingrained" in our irrational and sentimental selfs...
The world being the way it is - unjust - some of the feelings find "favourable envirnoments" to grow in significance and when a certain limit is exceeded then all the reason and motif is forgotten...
Eyes become blind, ears deaf... the feeling - hatred or any other taken to extreme - drive us to action, which has usually nothing to do with logic and sense or anything positive...
Sadly, lot of places on this planet earth have this "favourable environments" for hatred to arise...

Salam (peace) for all of you
when materialism conquered spirituality and following Allah orders, so the race to gain more made people to hate each other
when we were kids we were taught in religion lessons how to treat other with love and kindness, how to treat with ethicks, how to prefere other than self , ho to defend with others in disasters,
so we grow with all good ethicks with muslims and others, we still live loving each other but every one has his gool in life for good living , so we may be away from each other but we do not forget . I mean especially my chrestian friends who I met later and met each other with respect and love
about the world the speach will be longer but there are still goodness in the world and always goodness is the winner in life and after life
