Assistance: Youth driven regional newsletter

Hi
A group of young people is in the process of starting a newsletter aiming to report on developmental issues, but currently none of the group of young people have any formal training in journalism nor do we have start up capital to buy equipment. So if anyone has any ideas to solicit funds and where to solicit from, also, ideas on how to make the newsletter attractive, please advise, thank you.
