There are many actually...concerning me as an individual...
Roots- Alex Haley
Brave New World- Aldous Huxley
War and Peace- Leo Tolstoy
Qur'anic Reflections- Amr Khaled
The Unnatural Nature of Science- Lewis Wolpert
Islam in the West- Roger Garaudy
Untergang des Abendlandes- Oswald Spengler
But I would guess that we should annex another question:
Books that made people think and act ! or in other words...Books that changed history, either positively or negatively.
I would put the following books as examples of very historically influential books:

In relation to this topic of discussion, I payed a little visit this afternoon to the Cairo International Book Fair.
I bought an Arabic translation of Stephen Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", and I shared with two of my friends the price of Paulo Coelho's novel the Alchemist.

well if there is a book that did affect my life and did made me look for a change is the alchamist. This book taught me alot of meaning in life which is very uneasy to find it by myself.I totally recommend anyone to read the book.Its actually worth spending time to read the book.

A couple of them:
-New Boy, which is a book I am reading right now about racism in the education field back in the 40-70s.
- Chicken Soup for a Better World, is the best of the series I think. It's filled with lots of inspirational stories, which I read when I'm feeling down.
- Chicken Soup for the Soul of America, is more inspirational stories about the attacks on 9/11 and how we can move on and combat war, and start peace.
- Biographies, I like to read bios of famous world leaders like Gandhi and Lincoln, and it makes me think how great their contributions to our world really were.

Some kids in my drama class acted that book out, it really made me think about my life and whether "mainstream" and "alternative" actually exist. It's really great.

Among a huge number of books, here are a couple that I love and have made me act:
- No guesses here, but The End Of Poverty by jeffrey Sachs is a great book.
- "Emergency Sex (And Other Desperate Matters)" is also a great book about three young adults that worked in the UN in places such as Cambodia, Haiti and other such hot spots. Great book!

FOLLWING BOOK LONG AGO AND I ALWAYS FEEL THAT THIS WILL BE VERY INTERSTING FOR ALL IN TIG.
THE BOOK WAS WRITTEN BY MARY TYLER AND ITS NAME WAS "MY YEARS IN AN INDIAN PRISON".
