I am posting this dicsussion on behalf of my organisation, Family Rights & Education Initiative, Nigeria. We are of the view that the manner our government is taclkling education is more of lip service. We beleive that we need private sector initiative to assist in moving education for all campagn forward. The best way to do this is for all hands to be on deck. We have therefore developed strategies of going to schools for the establsihment of libraries in both primary and secondary scjhool in Ogun, Lagos and Ondo States. We beleive that all parents who are not able to provide money to buy text books can make use of the libraries through the assistance of the pupil's classroom teachers.
All what we require is the assistance of publishers, volunteers and donor agencies to assist us by providing textbooks free of charge to us. It is such pragmatic approach to education issue that can assure us success in the global aim to acheving education for all by 2015. Thank you for reading this.
