Is Corporate Imperialism preventing us from saving our world?

Now that it is commonly known that there is indeed a higher level of governement, what can all people do to reverse this predicament in which our could be honest governements have formed themselves into.
Is the control of wealth overriding the will to preserve the world on the most important level, it's basic natural needs, fresh water, clean air. It is safe to say that nowadays almost all harm can be derived by some direct affect or side effect of this higher level of governement.
The worlds population must realize this and to act in unity would be the only way to prosper from the effort, but starting on a small scale is how it always works.
Lets think of some ideas.

We are Capitalists. Capitalists live in pursuit of capital.
We control the distribution of capital, therefore we control the corporations. The problem is, they've been around for so long - they've conditioned us to the point where they TELL us what we want.
There are a few of us aware of this, though.
Capital does not care for the plights of the persons and things around it. So why should the Corporation care? It doesn't.
We need to find a way to regain the education system. It's only through education that we can make others aware of the stranglehold held on us by the Corporation ... and that has to start on a personal level.
